Windows as a NAS server?

Hi.

I have a Windows computer always on (because I need to access it now and then to do a specific remote job).

I want to use it as a simple NAS. To quickly have access to the files and possible backups from the mobile.

Can this be done? Found a bit of information here and there, but I would like to know if anyone has experience with this.
