I was going to order some tools from Injora and saw the price on these. 28,99 is very cheap, but they got som every good reviews. I also bought blue inserts. Medium. Might be too hard, but i hope this will be a good setup for my Redcat Scout II Gen 8. What do you thing? I mostly do trail, but also some rock.
I drove mine for the first time yesterday. I bought a 2S battery for it because I’d read several reviews mentioning the rather abrupt throttle response. It’s definitely still quite abrupt on 2S, but after driving for a while I got used to it and managed to make it a lot less jerky.
That said, there’s a huge difference in refinement compared with the FMS FCX10 1/10 platform. I also have the FMS Range Rover and Defender, and their low-speed control is in a completely different class.
But the Toyota is seriously cool, and I had a lot of fun with it. I just need to sort out the tires and fit the new steel beadlock wheels I bought. Unfortunately, the first set of tires I ordered were too wide/thick at the bead and basically impossible to fit properly on the beadlocks. The wheels that comes with the rig looks awfull.
I’m considering changing the ESC to get smoother and more precise low-speed throttle control. I’m still fairly new to RC, though, so I’m not sure how involved that is. Is it enough to swap to something like a Hobbywing Fusion, or would I need to change other components as well?
What other mods have you guys done to your FJ40s? Anything you’d consider a must-have? It is very bouncy and top heavy so based on my quick run yesterday it is more of a trail truck than a rock crawler. But the size and ground clearance makes it quite good on obstacles.
I bought new rims and tires, these: Z-W0127 5 Lug Wagon 1.9" Steel Stamped Beadlock Wheels (White) and Z-T0197 RC4WD Mickey Thompson Baja Pro X 4.75 1.9 Scale Tires. And i really struggle to assemble them. I managed one, however not perfect, after 1-2 hours of on and off. The 2nd tire just wont keep in place. It looks like the tires are two wide. I use two longer screws to press them together. But do you guys have any tip on how to do this work easier?
I'm rather new to this, but already i use too much money on RC. I have bought 3 1/10 scale crawlers the last couple of months and some equipment and other stuff. I don't have that many cars yet, 3 in 1/10 and 2 in 1/18 but my money sits way too loose... I can only drive one at the time and my wife thinks I'm crazy. And probably childish too.

I'm relatively new to RC and have been running everything stock up until now. My latest purchases are a Land Rover Defender and a Range Rover, both from FMS in 1/10 scale.
I've added quite a bit of scale accessories to the roof, but they're mostly very lightweight items. Even so, I feel like the tires are sagging a bit. I've also done some driving in water and mud, so it's possible that the foam inserts have gotten soaked and are starting to break down.
I'd like to upgrade to some firmer tires and, ideally, heavier wheels as well to add more weight down low. I'm looking for ambient music with a bit more going on. Pure ambient often feels too static for me. I enjoy rhythm, deep bass, choirs, and a dark, almost sacred atmosphere. Anything with a space/cosmic theme is a bonus.
Some of my favorites so far are Sephiroth, Ruptured World, Gdanian's Mechanical Gods, Metatron Omega's ISIH, the second half of Kristof Bathory's Human Dystopia, Raison d'Être, Atrium Carceri (Codex and Forgotten Gods), as well as some Phelios and Tineidae.
A lot of dark ambient I've found seems to be missing that extra element that keeps me engaged, but I also don't want anything too industrial, harsh, or noisy. Any recommendations?
