Been a Warhammer fan for 20 years but only recently heard about how fun necromunda is, where to start?

So I recently was listening to a podcast (astartes anonymous) and they were recounting all the wild rules and fun things you can do, in terms of kitbashing, rules, classes, gangs etc. is that all in the current edition? Is it as freeform and wild as they made it out to be? What other cool things can I do? Do I need to find some old books off ebay?

Ok hear me out, voidsmen/naval breacher is gonna be the new class

So hear me out:

- I don't have a screenshot for this but I just had a game where two veterans talked about a rumor that the ship-mistress is sending down her voidfarers

-the new vet weapon is a shotgun, like the naval breachers models have

- From a post I saw earlier the new class is referred to as "dauntless" in the code

-what ship are we on? a Dauntless class light cruiser ( fairly sure)

Ladies and Gentlemen, I think I got it. Yeah itll overlap some with vet or zealot but I think there is enough you can do to make it different

Last night I had a vision from the emperor. The sequel to darktide....Orktide

Ya play as a bunch of kommandos boyz on the WAAAGH. They added shoota and choppa kustumization and it was called "snazzifikatiun" it's real I swear it's coming!

[TOMT] [ALBUM/BAND] I can't remember the name but there was wizards

I can't remember the name of this band at all but they were a shoegaze/ shoegaze adjacent band. There were two wizards blasting lightning spelling out the bands name

The only other things I remember was they sampled a Speech BMO gave about growing up for one of their songs

Inspired by another post I saw, Warhammer 40k CRPG But you are Chaos Space Marines

So here's my pitch, You are an aspiring warlord given command either through merit, or offing your commander and have to claim the map and magical mcguffin.

You would have your named party of followers, a sorcerer a zealot a champion etc etc. theyd be the kind who can go down but will get back up after a fight or after some time off. You'd also rise mortals and other csm to be part of your followers these would be generic goons that would fill out your party or go on tasks without you (go find this object, fight this battle etc) and they can run the risk of permadeath.

Think Expedition: Rome if you ever played that

You'd also have to manage planets and armies to fight resistance and incoming armies. Like rogue trader but with more management.

I don't got a lot thought out but I think there's good potential

Source books and novels about the Dragons Tongue?

Still fairly green about the lore of battletech, Most of my knowledge is succession wars and clan invasion but I know the broad strokes of the timeline as a whole thanks to the BattleTech universe book (Oma, other podcasts and my own reading for the specifics of that time. )

However with CGLs new boxes being aimed at Illclan Era I want to learn up on what Davion and the Fedsuns have been doing. I also wanna try my hand at submitting to shrapnel but I feel like I would need to know more of the source material before trying anything

How essential are cogforts looking to be?

Just got the new book and it feels like the cogfort has taken center stage, It's a really cool model but 200 usd is a big price tag. are cogforts a must add for an army? Should I bite the bullet and get one or can I make some pretty viable lists without

Any examples Ghyran native mortals in lore

A while back I finished the first Thalia Vedra book and I loved the elements of native Aqshians and how they differ from the city dwellers. Are there any examples of native Ghyranians? Any models you have made? I wanna try and kitbash some to either be steelhelms, wildercorps or something like that

What is the best source for current lore events, or important events?

I'm not inherently new to the setting but my knowledge isnt up to date. I only just learned Fort Gardis was destroyed but the podcast I was listening to made it sound like it's been a while. I'm starting to get some friends into the game so I want to stay a good source of information

I say we declare war on the pirates

The pirates today declared war on the wizards, then failed to recruit the knights to attack as well. I like many of you have had my caravans attacked by the pirates. Now would be the time to settle old grudges and take back our due and not a gold less!
