Almost a Month After HON Retest and We Still Have No Clarity

It has been almost a month since many of us appeared for the HON (Hands-on) retest 1 assessment for our respective streams, and we are still sitting here with absolutely no clarity about what happens next.

What is more frustrating is that there has been movement in other streams. Candidates from other streams are receiving proper communication, having meetings with their POCs, getting updates about the next steps, and in some cases are even being given tentative timelines. Even some streams whose RT1 started a week after ours have already completed their RT1 and are now waiting for their results, while we are still waiting for clarity on the next steps after our HON retest.

But for our stream, it is completely different.

A lot of candidates, including myself, have repeatedly emailed and contacted our POC asking for a simple update:

What happens after the HON retest?
Will there be a viva?
When will the results be communicated?
Are we required to complete any additional assessment?
When will onboarding happen?
Is there even a tentative timeline for the next step?

We are not asking for preferential treatment. We are asking for basic communication and transparency.

The most frustrating part is that our emails are seemingly being ignored. If there is no confirmed timeline, that is understandable. But at least tell us that there is no confirmed timeline. Even a simple communication such as “We are waiting for further confirmation and will update you by X date” would give candidates some clarity.

Instead, we are being left completely in the dark.
Every morning, many of us are checking our emails hoping that there will finally be some update. We have been stuck in this recruitment/onboarding process since May. Months have passed, and many candidates have invested their time, effort and entire days preparing for assessments, training and waiting for the next step — while having no income from this process and no certainty about when or whether we will actually be onboarded.

This isn’t just about an assessment anymore.
There are real people behind these candidate IDs.
People have financial responsibilities. People have rejected or delayed other opportunities because they were expecting this process to move forward. People have been planning their careers around the possibility of joining Accenture. Some may have already spent months without a proper job while waiting for this process to conclude.
And the worst part is the uncertainty.

Are we getting onboarded?
If yes, when?
Are there additional assessments?
When will the final decision be made?

We don’t even have answers to these basic questions.

Accenture is a huge organisation, and I understand that hiring and onboarding thousands of candidates can take time. But taking time and keeping candidates completely uninformed are two different things.

If the process is delayed, tell us.
If onboarding is going to happen next quarter, give us a tentative timeline.
If there is no timeline yet, just communicate that.
What is not acceptable is keeping candidates waiting indefinitely without meaningful communication.

We have already invested months into this process. At this point, we aren’t asking for promises — we are asking for transparency, communication and respect for the time and future of the candidates who have gone through this entire process.

Completely Fed Up With Accenture

My HON did not go well, but my viva was super easy. He asked me the basic definitions of a few things—around 6–7 questions—which I answered properly and correctly. But still, they didn’t give me good marks in the viva. I genuinely don’t understand how Accenture evaluates viva marks. There were a few people in our batch who had 0 test cases passed in HON but still got full marks in the viva and cleared their hands-on. More than 60-70% people in our stream did not clear there HON assessment and now will have to appear for rt1.

I’m honestly extremely frustrated with this entire process. Every time, we have to prepare for something again for this shitty company. I’ve completely lost hope and don’t even have the energy or motivation to prepare for the retest anymore.

Accenture has already wasted almost 6 months of our lives with all this training and exams, all while keeping us in the hope that we would eventually get onboarded. If they had been transparent about the entire process from the beginning, I would have never sat through this process and would have tried somewhere else.

I genuinely feel like trusting them was one of the worst mistakes I’ve made. They keep telling us, “If you have any problem, contact us,” but when we actually need help, these POCs don’t even reply.

Accenture Recruitment Process in India — An Extremely Frustrating Experience

Accenture has honestly had one of the most frustrating recruitment and onboarding processes I have ever experienced.

My recruitment process started in December 25, I received my offer letter in March 26, and since then I have gone through multiple assessments, training programs, and continuous evaluations. We were repeatedly told that the HR Connect session before stream training would provide clarity about onboarding and the next steps.

Yesterday, we finally attended the HR Connect — and it was honestly a complete waste of time.
The HR representative conducting the session did not have any concrete information about our onboarding. When we asked when we could expect to be onboarded, the only answer was essentially:
“Reach out to the recruitment team. Onboarding will happen according to business requirements.”

Seriously?

If there were no confirmed business requirements or onboarding plans, why recruit us in the first place, issue offer letters, and put us through months of assessments and training?

For months, we have been investing our time and effort based on the expectation that this process would eventually lead to onboarding. But whenever we ask for basic information about what happens next, we are redirected to another team that also seems to have no clear answers or they wont response.

What makes this even more frustrating is that the HR Connect itself was already around three months late, and instead of providing useful information about onboarding, yesterday’s session included information about how the training process works — after we had already completed the training.

So what exactly was the purpose of the session?

The most frustrating part is the complete lack of transparency. We don’t expect someone to predict the exact onboarding date if business requirements genuinely aren’t finalized. But at the very least, there should be clear communication, realistic timelines, and someone who can actually answer our questions.

After spending months preparing, completing assessments, attending training, and putting other career opportunities on hold, being told repeatedly to “wait for business requirements” is extremely disappointing.

At this point, I genuinely feel that I made a mistake trusting this process and putting so much time into it. If I had spent the same amount of preparation and effort applying and preparing for other companies during these months, I might have had a completely different outcome.

The recruitment team seriously needs to improve its communication and onboarding process. And honestly, the people responsible for managing candidates should be given proper training and clear information before candidates are put through months of training and assessments.

Candidates’ time matters too.

We are not asking for special treatment. We are asking for basic transparency about the future of a career we were recruited for.

Very disappointed with how Accenture has handled this entire process.

Resigning without another job due to medical reasons — looking for some advice

I’m a B.Tech CSE 2024 graduate currently working for a company in a different state, and I’m considering resigning from my current job without having another offer in hand. I’d really appreciate some honest advice from people who have been in a similar situation.

To give some context, I actually have a very good team and team lead. They have been supportive, helpful, and always willing to listen whenever I’ve had an issue. My problem is mainly with the management.

Recently, due to some medical issues, I had to return home. I informed the company that, because of my current condition, I’m not in a position to travel back to office location or live there alone at the moment. I submitted the relevant medical documents as well and requested WFH until I recover.

The frustrating part is that the company does provide WFH to other employees, so I know it is something they allow in certain situations. I’m not really sure why they are unwilling to provide it in my case, especially after I have explained my situation and provided the required documents.

I have always tried to be flexible whenever the team needed me. There have been several occasions when other techs took emergency or medical leave and I was available whenever I was asked to cover their shifts. There were also situations where I cancelled my own planned offs because the team needed someone to work.

I’ve never really had an issue doing that because I genuinely like the work I do and I care about my team. Whenever the company needed me during difficult situations, I tried to be available and help wherever possible.

However, now that I’m the one in a difficult situation and genuinely need some flexibility, I feel like the same consideration isn’t being given to me.
Instead, my WFH request was rejected and I was put on Loss of Pay. I’m now being pressured to return to the office and resume working from office.

The problem is that, given my current circumstances, I genuinely cannot travel back to office location or manage living there alone right now. This isn’t about avoiding work or having a problem with my team. I actually want to continue working and I like the work I’m doing. I simply need to work from home until I recover.

Performance-wise, I’ve generally done well in my team. I receive performance-linked incentives most of the months and haven’t had any client complaints. So I don’t believe this is a case where I’ve been a poor-performing employee or someone who has been unwilling to support the team.
Because of the current situation, I’m seriously considering resigning even though I don’t have another offer lined up.

I understand that resigning without another job is financially risky, especially in the current job market. But I also don’t feel comfortable putting my current situation aside and travelling back when I’m genuinely not in a position to do so.

Also, they have a notice period of 2 months and I also have a bond of 2 years from which I have completed 1.8 years and If I leave now I have to pay the bond amount to them with my 2 months salary which is a huge amount for me to give currently.

So I’d like to ask people who have experience in the Indian IT industry:

How difficult is it currently to find another IT job with around 2 years of experience?

Would a gap after resigning due to medical/personal reasons significantly affect future job opportunities?

Is there anything I should be careful about regarding the notice period, LOP, company policies, or any agreement/bond before submitting my resignation?

Is there any other option I might be overlooking?

I’d appreciate honest advice, especially from people who have faced a similar situation.

I’m not trying to bash my entire company or my team. My team and team lead have actually been one of the best parts of working here. My concern is specifically about how management is handling my situation.

Thanks in advance.

Regarding Hands-on assessment for AASE stream

Hello everyone, we recently completed our hands-on assessment for our stream AASE off-campus, and it was quite challenging. There were two coding questions. I attempted the first one but got stuck because of missing imports. DevSkiller didn’t have an option to auto-import them, and we weren’t aware of that. From the beginning, we were told that we would be taking the assessment on our own machines, but just a day before the exam we were informed that it would be conducted on DevSkiller. Our instructor had also mentioned that the required packages/imports would be added automatically, but that wasn’t the case during the assessment. As a result, I wasn’t able to run the program completely, so unfortunately 0 test cases passed.

I didn’t attempt the second question because it was based on a topic that hadn’t been covered during our training.

The MCQ 1 and MCQ 2 assessments went well, and I’m currently working on the capstone project while also preparing for the viva.

I just wanted to know if there is any chance of being onboarded based on the overall performance across all the assessments, or if passing the hands-on assessment individually is a mandatory requirement.
