Is my book a dark romance or contemporary?

Ok so I’m currently writing a book about a pop star that gets kidnapped. The first act of the book is the dark side of Hollywood then the second act is when she gets kidnapped and then the love interest saves her and the third act is the after math. There are some dark romance tropes and I was going to market it as one, however there is no spice and the only truly dark thing is the kidnapping. I’m not sure what to do.

Is it better to spend money on editing or beta reading?

As I’m getting to the editing phase of my novel and starting my budgeting plans, I’m conflicting on investing into editing or spending less on beta readers. I’m on a tight budget so I was already planning on hiring editors that are on the cheaper end but with less experience. However, if I do I that I’m still spending at least $1500 on a book I’m not sure will even make that much back. But then as I was researching, I noticed lots of people provided beta reading services. I would pay around $350 + maybe some other expenses that would amount to another $500. So $850 total but that’s $650 dollars less.
I’m just a little lost because I do feel that editors are worth it but at the same time, I don’t want to take that gamble of not earning it back.
Ive had this habit where I just throw money at stuff expecting it to make it better so I’m really trying to be more cautious.
What do you guys think is the better option?

Did anyone feel that just now?

It felt like a bomb but it was weird, different from before in that I felt it from my right then to my left

Accountability group 10-15 people

I’ve been stuck, not finishing a draft for the past two years. In this loop of starting a new WIP then going back to old ones then starting a new one. I need to actually finish a first draft. So I’m making an accountability group on discord, good for writing sprints and actually finishing the draft. If you’re in the same boat as me, join!

Genre/s:
Any genre is welcome! I am currently writing a YA romantasy

Goals/expectations/commitment:
Honestly as long as everyone is completing one writing sprint a day that’s good, but no one would ever be penalized or removed for that.
There is absolutely no pressure. The group is designed as a space where seeing someone else write forces you to write as well, so sprints are necessary however it’s also a space to hype each other up and critique others work

Writing/experience level:
You do not have to be an experienced writer at all. This is mostly for people in the early drafting stages that just want to get it done or finally finish editing a draft.

Meeting place:
Discord. However please know that I made this server a few days ago so I’m also looking for mods if anyone is interested let me know!!

P.S. this is a completely new group so there are no past members

Have packages ever arrived at the fastest date?

I ordered party supplies for a party I have this Friday. I made sure all the items I picked were three days shipping time. The expected date Temu gave me was 11-22 June but I need it on the 11th and it’s still at the airport in china. Is there anything I can do or should I just cancel?

He makes an irreversible mistake and grovels

I just watched the episode in friends where Ross cheats on Rachel and gets on his knees begging her to take him back, and it did something to me. I need reccs kind of like psycho academy by Jasmine Mas. Preferably fantasy and the less smut the better. Thanks in advance!
