I have a 60w solid state head. Would I have any problems pairing it with a cabinet rated at 60w? Is it necessary to get a cabinet rated higher when using solid state?

I’ve never used delay much at all, aside from slapback in an Americana band I was in.
Now I’m working on a Sludge/Doom project and I would like to add some atmosphere.
Here’s what I think I’m after;
A tone control
Analog (I think)
The ability to have a couple presets
As I’m really chasing down a notion and experimenting I don’t want to spend more than $250

Any ideas, recommendations?

I’m about a 140 pages into The Dragon Reborn, and I’m annoyed with how adamantly they refuse to trust or heed the warnings of the Aes Sedai (Liandrin excluded) that have been trying to help them. Is it just because they’re from Emonds Field and are supposed to be stubborn?

Is there any place in town that carries tubes for guitar amps? Guitar Center occasionally has them but I’m looking for more options.

Anyone tried them. I’m seeing $229 a piece which is a bit too steep for me. I really like Tony’s 13 guitar sounds. I’d like to get in the ballpark. I also want to be able to get into Pike’s territory on occasion.
Anyone have any suggestions? From what I understand they both use fairly hot pickups.
I have a set of Black Winters I had in a 25.5” scale guitar. I didn’t love them and definitely didn’t hate them. There is a quality there I dig a lot. You think they might get me there in a double cut Les Paul?

I started reading GOTM January 31, 2025.
My original goal was to get through the main 10 within a year. Obviously, that didn’t happen. I’m trying to go easy on myself about it though.

Prior to this journey, I had never been able to commit to a series of more than 3 books, for various reasons. This one however, has completely won me over, I love it.
