Cancelling FMEL lease

Hi, I got an offer from FMEL and the lease starts from 16 July. I am waiting on a couple more uni results before I finalise EPFL.
I have to wait until the end of June for all admission results. If I do not come to EPFL, I will have to a fine of ~1000 CHF to FMEL. Should I accept the offer?

Given the lease date, I will anyway have to bear an extra month’s charge since I can only move in by the end of August.

Got an offer from FMEL Cèdres

Hi, I got an offer from FMEL Cèdres for a flatshare at CHF 510 per month. The start of the lease is 16 July, but I will only be able to move by the end of August. It is ~30 mins from the EPFL campus by public transport. The google reviews of the place are not that great. Should I take it? If people who live there or have lived there can provide some insights, that would be great.

Seeking advice on jobs after Masters/PhD in Germany

Hi! I am a non-EU resident, and I have an offer to study Neurosciences at LMU Munich. My goal is to land a job in the neuro-tech/med-tech sector. I have read that Germany has a lot of up and coming startups in the field, in addition to companies like Siemens, Roche, etc.
How likely it is to find a job in Germany after graduating from LMU or after doing a PhD? (given that I obtain B2/C1 German proficiency)

I have a 3 year work experience as a software engineer in a big multinational company.

Thank you

Foreigner seeking advice on jobs after Swiss masters

Hi! I am a non-EU resident, and I have an offer to study Neuro-X engineering at EPFL. My goal is to land a job in the neuro-tech/med-tech sector.
Although the program offers several industry oriented courses and has a mandatory industry internship, how likely it is to find a job in Switzerland after graduating from EPFL? (given that I obtain B2/C1 french proficiency)

I have a 3 year work experience as a software engineer in a big multinational company.

Help in filling studierendenwerk application form

I am a non-EU student, going to pursue masters at LMU in the upcoming winter semester. I had a couple of doubts while filling the application form. I have selected apartment with shared kitchen, single apartment and single room.

  1. Max. amount of costs for rental: I am assuming this is the max amount I can pay per month. I have kept it to 700 euros. Is that okay?

  2. Address during the semester: does this mean the uni address?

  3. Upload documents - university entrance qualification / high school diploma: I am an international student. What should I upload here?

Thank you!

What to choose between Switzerland and Germany for Masters for better job opportunities.

Hi

I got offers to study Neuroscience from EPFL in Switzerland and LMU Munich in Germany. My goal is to pivot to the neuro-tech/med-tech sector. I am having a hard time deciding between the two options. The EPFL course offers more industry oriented courses, but I have heard that the job market is worse in Switzerland. I would really appreciate any insights or opinions :)

my_qualifications: I am a CS undergrad, currently working at a FAANG company as a software engineer(3YOE).

Industry opportunities after studying at the GSN

Hi, could current students and alumni at the GSN please help me understand the industry opportunities after graduating from MSc/FT Neurosciences (comp neuro track)? I am aware that the program is more academia focused, but I am curious to know if there are people who pivoted to industry and what roles you guys are currently in.

Thank you!

EPFL Neuro-X or MSc Neurosciences at LMU

I am a non-EU student, got accepted to the Neuro-X master at EPFL and MSc Neurosciences at LMU Munich. I am having a hard time deciding between the two. My end goal is to work in industry (open to a PhD after Masters), and I think Neuro-X seems like a better option for that, but would really appreciate more opinions, given the bad job market for internationals in Switzerland.
