its my first attempt at modding, im glad it turned out how i wanted.
no 3d printing involved.
This mod was focused on aesthetics and hardware change. it wasnt focused on weight reduction. thats the reason i havent carved the base of the mouse and removed powerplay feature. will do one focused on weight reduction in the future.

to see how i made it, see my previous posts. i have pictures of every stage in my previous part1 and part2 posts. im open to questions or discussions.

Logitech GPRO X superlight 1 mod (part2)

Link to my previous post (Part 1) https://www.reddit.com/r/Indiangamers/comments/1t6rgy5/logitech_gpro_x_superlight_mod_and_upgraded/?utm_source=share&utm_medium=web3x&utm_name=web3xcss&utm_term=1&utm_content=share_button

ive finished painting the mouse. this has to be the longest process because waiting for curing period is necessary, otherwise the paint just takes longer to cure fully.

as you can see the carving has been cleaned up further and a lot of bits that were sticking out have been sanded away. i used 600 grit to prep the whole surface of the mouse so that the white primer can stick well. painted the mouse over a week, currently it has a 1k clear coat on it to protect the fluorescent paint. I'm going to do a 2 compound hardener on the mouse so it can stay scratchless for a long time, but currently just testing the overall feel of the mouse and how it will wear.

made some mistakes with this but luckily they were totally reversable. i tried to go for quality over practicality with the areas i chose to paint. I decided to not leave any unpainted spots on the parts that I'm painting (even inside the mouse, areas that we cannot see from outside) which i shouldn't have done because the mouse has tight tolerances and fits inside the body. even adding 0.1 mm to some surfaces will cause the mouse to not assemble properly or feel stiff. In my case, the scroll stopped rotating and the mouse clicks became rigid. i fixed it easily by sanding and increasing the tolerance in a few places.

the mouse fits well now, everything works smoothly and feels like stock, the side buttons feel even better because the added layer of paint on the skeleton and the side button makes it less mushy and feel more responsive.

the mouse may look glossy and less grippy but it feels very stable in my hand.

the skates feel good even though i added some extra mms to the base.

i will use this mouse for gaming everyday for 2 weeks and see how and where the paint wears, then ill give it a final touchup and a hardened epoxy coat which will be the the final step.

Logitech gpro x superlight mod and upgraded hardware.

Logitech gpro x superlight. warranty ended last month so i decided to give it a new life.

Hardware upgrades:

  • Huano brown silent switches 10M
  • Kailh red encoder (much smoother than stock)

most time i spent was on the design. as you can see i tried multiple different shapes for the clicks and the part below the clicks. nothing felt right but i finally found what suits the mouse best.

the most time consuming part was the design but now i know what to look for while designing. the round shapes suit the overall rounded form of the superlight. other shapes like razer might suit an angular or reptilian design.

i used sandpaper and files to smoothen the holes. ps its been 4 days since i took these pictures and i have refined it even more.

paintjob is not yet complete, although it feels amazing after sanding. will upload results after painting so lookout for my next post.

P.S. let me know if you want this mouse or want yours modified hehe

the mouse has been cleaned up even more. will post more after painting it.
