Unemployment benefits transfer- all payments suspended, no explanation

I would really appreciate any advice.

I am a EU national, did a PhD in Switzerland (4.5 years of full time work, never claimed any benefits), and am now looking for a job. I registered for unemployment benefits and decided to apply for the transfer of benefits to a EU country. As per the rules, this is possible for up to 3 months:

https://www.arbeit.swiss/en/jobseekers/returning-to-switzerland

I mentioned this during the in-person meeting with my advisor. I submitted all the documentation for claiming unemployment benefits and for the transfer. I explained I would like to know before I actually leave, because if they refuse, I would stay in Switzerland to have some income while looking for a job. However, I received no information until the day I left Switzerland, when I got the following email (translated from French):

“Good morning

Your case has been forwarded to our legal department; in the meantime, the payment of your compensation is suspended.

With our best regards”

This puts me in a difficult situation - I am in another country with a lot of uncertainty about whether and when I am getting any benefits. Also I had to keep my Swiss health insurance to enable the benefit transfer. I don’t know when to expect an answer, and what the problem is.

I would like to ask for advice what I can do about this? I believe I have rights for the benefit transfer. I generally have a lot of trust in the public system in Switzerland, but have been told by multiple people they have had difficult experiences with getting  benefits they were rightfully entitled to (of course, this is just anecdotal evidence).

I am sure I can find a job in a few months, but need the benefits for now. I am willing to pay for a lawyer if they can help me navigate , but of course money is tight at the moment.

I feel a bit lost

I just finished my PhD. Everyone thinks I am having the time of my life, but I am exhausted and burnt out. The PhD was not a good experience for me, I was counting the days for it to be over. Now I feel just as miserable, just with some new problems to solve. Find a job. Move away from this random place and country where I came just for the PhD. Decide where to move. I have no idea, except that I am not going back home.

I start my days at 1PM when I manage to get out of bed. Other days I don't manage at all. I pull down the blinds, close the windows and sleep. When I can't sleep anymore, I watch movies, one after another with no breaks not to let my mind wander. I have a million things I need to do, but I scroll on reddit for hours and hours. I eat in bed, don't shower, my apartment looks like a warzone. I get irritated by the smallest things to the point I lose control of myself.

I haven't dated in ages, and the idea feels ridiculous. I like rock climbing but I get panic attacks when I climb. I love surfing but I panic, too. I liked to go out but I can't handle interactions with people. I used to take antidepressants, it helped but I lost interest in sex and it caused me to break up with my girlfriend, and thus end the only relationship I've had. Therapy didn't work for me, meditating feels good but doesn't change anything. Not sure what else to try.

Sometimes there are good days, I live in a beautiful place with glaciers, waterfalls and a lot of sunshine. I go snowboarding, cycling, hiking in the mountains, and I am happy. But that's sometimes.

I am 32, zero relationship with my family where everyone has their own struggles, no career, no plans. I have many friends, but no one close. I don't have a house, don't even own a car. And I am fucking balding lol.

Dinner: pinsa with mozzarella, dry-cured ham, cherry tomatoes, rocket, olive oil. yum

Advice for salary negotiation

I am interviewing for a company (in Munich, Germany) When applying, I had to specify my expected salary. I had an interview, it went very well I think. Then they followed up saying (amongst other things):

"your stated salary expectations are above the range allocated for this position. We would therefore like to understand whether you would be open to adjusting your expectations – and if so, to what level."

I replied:

"To answer your question about salary, it would help to know the range you have in mind for the position. "

Them:

"As my colleague already mentioned, at this point, it would be important for us to understand whether you can signalize to us if there is any room for negotiation with regard to your salary expectations and to what extent. Giving an approximate percentage (or range) would be quite sufficient."

I find this silly. They ask for a concrete number in the application, so I give it. Then they say it's "above the range", so I ask what's the range, but they refuse to share it, and basically are telling me "ok, give us another number, but lower".

FWIW, I am not super interested in the job. But since I am new to the job search, and I would like to learn how to handle situations like this.

Any opinions?

Bike ticket costs the same as my ticket?

I am looking to go from Sion (Switzerland) to Prague (Czech Republic) with my bicycle, and I will be booking it with Deutschebahn (booking with the Swiss is not possible and with the Czechs it is much more expensive).

Three questions:

  1. the price when adding a bike 66.99 euro - the same as my own ticket (see attached screenshots). But everywhere I could find online says something about 12 euros for EC trains. Is it normal for the bicycle ticket to cost that much?
  2. do I need a separate reservation in addition to the bike ticket? I think I do but cannot find where should I get one
  3. The EC 459 is a sleeper train but I cannot find where to book a bed on the website?

Thank you so much for any answers I've spent so much time trying to figure this out!

I recently spent a day climbing at the beach (with very salty water just a few meters away) and since that some of my quickdraws don't close.

What should I do to fix it? I left them in warm water but it didn't help. I read about lubricating them but I don't understand how would I do that, the gate cannot be removed and there is no space for the lubricant.

Thanks for any advice!

Any opinions or experiences with these two backpacks? I can't decide.

Black Diamond:
https://eu.blackdiamondequipment.com/products/street-creek-30-rt-backpack?variant=50691012591895

Patagonia:
https://eu.patagonia.com/ch/de/product/fieldsmith-roll-top-pack-32-liters/48543.html?srsltid=AfmBOorQ6Cl7K5ZWXJR2s6Us6a583XKY6vz2fXOQvyr0cG9lQJCWhba2

I could use the extra 2 liters of Patagonia, at the same time the Black Diamond looks a bit more sturdy to me, but maybe that's just the pictures.

I want to use the backpack daily around the city, going to work, carrying groceries etc., but also for light hikes and to carry climbing gear on easier days.
