I’m looking to see if anyone has any experience with the Kindergarten Assistance Program at St. Michael’s for a 5-year-old boy who has trouble with focus and attention in class.

It was recently recommended that he attend the program for his Senior Kindergarten year and then return to his regular school for Grade 1 afterward.

We’re just trying to learn more from parents who may have gone through something similar. Did you find the program helpful? Did it help with focus, communication, behaviour, or transitioning back into a regular classroom setting?

Any feedback, experiences, or advice would really mean a lot.

Hey everyone, looking for some advice on a situation that’s been driving me a bit crazy.

For the past while, my neighbor across the street starts his truck every morning around 4:30–4:45 AM and lets it idle for 15–20 minutes before taking off pretty loudly down the street. It wakes me up almost every single day. I’ve got two little kids at home, so I’ve started using white noise for them, but I’m still getting woken up and it’s really starting to wear on me.

I get that people have early jobs and routines, but the long idling + loud acceleration at that hour feels pretty inconsiderate. These neighbors moved in about a year ago, and I’m not sure if anyone else nearby is bothered by it, but I’m honestly at my limit.

Has anyone dealt with something similar? Is this something worth bringing up directly with them, or are there any local bylaws around idling/noise that might apply here? I don’t want to escalate things unnecessarily, but I also can’t keep getting woken up like this every morning.
