My lips have a good enough shape and I just wanted to see what the norm is? Eg, lip pencil + gloss doesn't work well for me.

Hi guys, I was looking for a long lasting lip colour and after the claims bought this one from Chanel although I would never spend that much on a lipstick. After using it one day without much eating etc. it seems to not last. The top layer comes off within a few hours and the colour under this fades.
I use it over bare lips so I don't mess with the formula and let it dry a little, and then apply the top coat.
What gives?
EDIT - Tried it every way and it looks awful. Just took a photo. Looks like I have bare dry lips. What a shame.
