What navigation device

I rushed out and bought the Garmin nuvi XT2 device but after a year I still can’t get on with it.

The trouble I find is it purely road biased and even when I plan a trail route and import it as a track rather than a route it doesn’t want to show me the legal trails.
I even struggled to find a postcode that Google maps and Apple Maps found easily so I feel a bit ripped off after paying a lot of money for a device that got so many good reviews.

I’m in the UK and I’m looking for advice what green lane / TET trail devices are people using and how do I mount it to my 2020 Tenere with power.

Appreciate any advice

Finally experienced what this bike is made for!

You read the reviews and expect a 210kg bike to be a total nightmare on the trails. The reality is the exact opposite. Hit some Yorkshire lanes and realized you shouldn't knock it until you try it. Absolute pure fun in the dirt!

Ditching the old MX boots: What’s your go-to ADV boot for on and off-road? (£250-£350)

I’m trying to find the sweet spot for ADV boots. Right now I use my Alpinestars for the tarmac and swap to my really old Fox Comp Rs when I hit the trails. I want to upgrade to a single pair of true ADV boots that can comfortably handle both.
I'm heading to Wales in September for an off-road training day, so it’s time to update the kit. My budget is between £250 and £350 maximum, so I'm looking for something that is protective enough for a heavy bike but doesn't require taking out a second mortgage for the ultra-premium stuff.
If you've bought a pair recently that you absolutely swear by (or any to avoid!), let me know. Real-world reviews only, please!

Update to falling for the marketing hype: I love the bike, but my ambition outweighed my talent!

I had a massive reaction to my post the other day about struggling with the reality of ADV riding versus the marketing videos. There were way too many comments to reply to everyone individually, but I read them all and wanted to say a massive thanks for the great advice (and the funny sarcastic comments too!).
To set the record straight: I absolutely love the bike, and I'm not giving up on it. I just had a classic case of my ambition completely outweighing my talent. Watching the pros throw these bikes around makes it look so easy, but I've quickly learned I need a lot more practice to get to that level.
I'm going to focus on building my skills and confidence step-by-step from here, and I am planning to book one of the Yamaha days over in Wales to learn some proper techniques.
Thanks again to everyone who chimed in with encouragement!

Fell for the marketing, bought a T7, and found out the hard way! Anyone else make the jump?

Came from a background of riding bikes, saw all the pro marketing videos, and convinced myself I could go buy a heavy adventure bike and do the same thing. Found out the hard way that it's a completely different ballgame on UK trails!

It took some humbling moments, but I've loved every minute of the process and even started a small journal site to track the gear and routes.

How was everyone else's transition into heavier ADV bikes? Did you jump straight in or scale up?
