Audiovisual Setup Design Help

Here's the setup that I am building towards:

  • two Tvs alongside each other
  • turntable
  • 2.1 or 3.1 audio
  • playstation that doubles as DVD player, or separate DVD player
  • Google TV streamers that I already own that plug into the TVs via HDMI

I understand for visual I will want a HDMI matrix to switch between everything. For the audio aspect however, what equipment/specification do I require such that I can direct arbitrary input source to arbitrary output source (tv speaker or the sound system)?

So much “I built…” spam

The sub is currently 50/50 actual World Cup content and people paddling their predictors/fantasy draft/team fantasy. As we speak, these posts are 6/10 on my sort by newest. It’s getting ridiculous

I DO NOT care that you built a new site that is exactly the same as ten others on this sub. Y’all need your own sub to fight it out amongst yourselves first.

Mods, can we at least confine all of those posts to a megathread?

ETA: would people be interested if I run a benchmark pitting all the models against each other every round? The model authors submit the xPts for every player and based on that, I compute the optimal squad according to each model and post their results after the game day.

How good/bad is the official fixture difficulty rating (FDR) - a season recap

The general consensus around here seems to be that the fixture ticker on the official site isn't much good. Now that the season is over, I wanted to see exactly how good/bad it was and whether the FDR is better at certain things than others.

How accurate is it?

I am using a very simplistic definition of accuracy here. If FDR says a game is harder for the home team than the away team, then it's accurate if the away team wins, so on and so forth.

Over the course of the season, FDR is 45.5% accurate, which is honestly better than I thought.

Does the FDR become more accurate later in the season?

Not really.

Is FDR good at anything?

Honestly, it is not so bad at predicting clean sheets.

There were 52 games where FDR said the away team has a less difficulty fixture than the home team. The away team kept 25 clean sheets in these games, or roughly 48% of the time.

There were 83 games where the home team's FDR is at least 2 lower than the away team's. The home team kept 40 clean sheets in these games, also roughly 48% of the time.

I have the data and time on my hand so put any of your FDR questions in the comments and I will try getting to them.

Parchment order taking a long time

Ordered an official transcript last Thursday and still nothing. Need it for starting a job soon. What have wait times been like for others?

ETA: this post was sufficient motivation for them to send the transcript to me

Looking for a particular local beer - Alewerks Brewing Anywhere IPA

I was in cville two years ago to visit Shenandoah and had this beer at the Virginian. I really liked it but couldn’t find any in any near by liquor stores. I’ve not seen it once outside of cville.

Here again to see a friend and was wondering if any place near campus still pours it. Thanks in advance.
