Trying to decide how much of a raise to ask for

Hey everyone,

I'm 29 years old and work for a team of finacial advisors as a Client Associate. Our team is very succesful (lots of Forbes awards, large AUM, largest non-private wealth team in the market). This is at one of the top 3 largest banks/brokers in the U.S. in a MCOL city.

When i started 5 years ago, my salary was $53,000. It is now $63,375 + $31,000 (the bonus my advisors give me).

I have my series 7 & 66. And I currently am in a training program where upon completion i will have the same job but with a new title and an opportunity to sit with our management and ask for a raise.

I'm trying to decide how much of a raise to ask for. I've previously complained to my direct manager that I know i was low-balled when I started. She's mentioned to the manager i'll be negotiating with that I'm unhappy with my base salary and it needs to increase. I also know that two years ago my colleague started off with a base salary of $75K. But my manager (indirectly bc obviously I didn't tell them she told me) told me my colleague came in at a higher salary because she had 3 years prior experience and I had no experience.

I'm thinking about asking for either a base salary of $85K or $90K. Is this reasonable? I could be happy with the $85K so should i just ask for that or start off at $90K?

Any negotiation tips would be appreciated!

Thanks!

At what point does Capital One (COF) become a buy?

The stock has gotten beaten up pretty badly. And it seems a large portion of that is due to fear about the Discover and Brex acquisitions being too much to handle at once. But I can't find any news stories about those acquisitions having negative effects yet. And as long as sub prime and near prime consumers don't get crushed in the short term they'll have time to finish the integrations and become a somewhat more diversified company.

Tempted to buy soon but waiting for price to fall more.

Let a stray cat live in our garage... Now there's fleas.

Hello,

We let a stray cat live in our garage for three months before she passed away from a failed child birth a week ago. She had fleas even though we put flea drops on her.

I went into the garage for the first time since she passed away. And i had two or three fleas jump on me with one biting me. Super gross..

What do I need to do to get this problem handled? I plan on throwing away all the cupboards and the rug we had in there. Probably leave everything outside the garage then throw boric acid on the floor for a day or so? Maybe diamacious earth?

We have a 2 year old son so we can't let him in the garage until this is done. Also, what should we do about his strollers?

Need vet recommendation.. Cat in labor

Hi everyone.

I live on 336 in Conroe. And there's a stray cat who we've been feeding for the past 6 weeks.

Well, she's pregnant and has been in labor since at least 5pm yesterday (possibly earlier, that's just when i got home and noticed). She's currently in a garage and her water broke, but no kittens have come out. We're worried she's having trouble giving birth. She's in a lot of pain and getting less responsive.

Does anyone have any advice on where we can take her for help? I love all animals, but I can't pay a large vet bill for a pretty much stray cat (and yes I feel awful saying that). But it's hard to think about her passing from this. She really was the sweetest cat I ever met.

Are there any vets that would do either free or low cost work? I could do like $150
