Okay why do some radiohead fans hate on this album? [Copy pasta by "someone else" in description]

"Never met one

Matter of fact- my mortal enemy in high school loved U2 and constantly shat upon radiohead. I mean we didnt have real beef but we were like, idk our whole relationship was how stupid we thought each other was.

Then this dropped. I bought him a copy and just said give it one listen and if its truly not incredible to you, then ill shut the fuck up forever.

Hand to god- im 34 now. I went to that mans sons 3rd birthday party just yesterday. He was my best man, i was his. We’ve been to 6 radiohead shows together, often vip.

Hope that helps"

Good morning folks! I hope you have a beautiful day with this picture of the 2+1/3 x Holy Trinity of Weezer albums 😘

Yes, I bought the remaining Weezer studio albums* for my collection. And no, I don't care what Rivers says, I don't want to buy the SZNZ mini-albums. And yes, I will buy the Gold Album in two days.

*The Black Album on top is actually a mispress featuring an album by One OK Rock. A physical giveaway is that the disc features white text (not black). I am glad my kind seller sent me a correct copy of the Black Album afterwards for free, while I could keep both copies.

New 2026 additions: "maxing out" the collection (warning: the last picture is not for the faint-hearted!) + some "fun" facts

* Why the Black Album twice, you ask? And even worse, why is one of the copies NOT in alphabetical order? Well, the first one is actually a mispress featuring a totally different album by One OK Rock. Fortunately, the seller was very kind and sent me the correct product for free afterwards, while I could still keep the mispress. The mispress features white text on a black disc, whereas the correct product features black text on a black disc.

* Soft Play's name used to be Slaves but they changed it later. It caused a massive uproar amongst fans, saying "punk's dead" and whatnot. Listen to the song "Punk's Dead"; it's a hilarious punk metal song and the lyrics are all made up of online negative comments the band received upon their name change. One of the weirdest comments is even sung by Robbie Williams, who makes a funny guest appearance.

* King Crimson's "The ConstruKction of Light" is the only album of which I have two versions: the original one with electronic drums and the remake named "The ReconstruKction of Light" with acoustic drums and new drum tracks. The result is quite different!

* Transatlantic is a progressive rock supergroup featuring members from Dream Theater, The Flower Kings, Marillion, and Spock's Beard, from Europe and the US (hence the name, I guess).

* The 2025 releases I've bought so far are: "Blue Morpho" (Ed O'Brien), "The Wow! Signal" (Muse), and "Reality Awaits" (The Strokes). And yes, I will probably buy Weezer's Gold Album this Friday (and Editor's new album this fall). Other than that I think I have "maxed out" my collection, save for a few artists I follow closely and will release new albums in the future. To be continued (kind of).

Music store owner gave my toddler this cool promotional poster

Yesterday, after the last local heatwave, I finally went to the local music store with my family to buy TWS. I told my toddler he could now listen to the whole album at home. The store owner said: "It's only a bit heavy, isn't it?" To which my wife replied: "Well, he really loves Knights of Cydonia!" Then the owner went to the back of the store, returned, and gave my toddler this cool 50x70cm promotional poster of TWS. An amazing first music collectible if you ask me (and a jealous parent)! It will get a great place in his next bedroom. For now, my toddler really enjoyed listening to the whole album while sitting on my neck this morning, with "the red waterfall!", "the bass guitar!", and "guitars!". Rock on 🤘

Interesting observation: TWS is the first album in 20 years (since KOC) without (obvious) Queen influences

I know people have drawn parallels between Muse and Queen ever since Showbiz, but KOC was their big "coming out party", and all the way from TR to WOTP, from Uprising to WAFF, Muse wore their love for Queen on their sleeves. Until TWS, with not a single song on the album, unless I have missed something.

This does not necessarily mean anything good or bad; I just found it an interesting observation about TWS, which is in stark contrast to the previous 5 albums.

What would you guys say is radioheads "creep"?

Some artists/bands have a song that they call their "creep" (a song that got extremely popular, yet the band doesnt really like it), and I was curious what you guys think is radioheads "creep".

Outjerked at work

Colleague 1 wants to show a video of her son covering a song on drums during a high school performance evening to colleague 2.

But colleague 1 forgot about the artist, so colleague 2 starts guessing right away:

"Sounds 90s..."

"Coldplay?"

...

It was No Surprises.

I have never posted this before, but I had to think of it because of another recent post discussing the color of Origin of Symmetry. I definitely go with orange!
