What do you want to see in 2002?

For me, I have 3 things I really hope to see/have in 2002.

  1. Partner alternate stat spreads. I would love for each partner having multiple costumes that change their stats a bit. Give each of them an equally balanced spread in 1 costume, and a few specialised costumes with unique stat spreads. Going for an example in CB1, why do most partners focus their stats in the SECOND highest of their sig mon? Give Viola a 120 speed costume damnit! XD

  2. On the subject of partners: I hope the cb1 partners make a return. Not necessarily as battle partners, but I would love to continue their romances tbh.

  3. File transfer! I would like it very much if collecting all mons and tons of bootlegs in cb1 had some impact on 2002. Like giving me the option to choose an old mon as my starter. I would love that xD

What about you?

Am I right in the assumption that low speed teams would suck in the Gauntlet?

Considering the 15 auto move limit, getting enemies with tons of auto triggers would throw a slow team back at LEAST 1 full turn, let alone any turn-zero shenanigans...

Any advice to figure out how to use Astral Traffikrab effectively?

Love the little dunce cap but I struggle with building something workable out of it.

Currently I have it focus on melee, because Galactic Beatdown is awesome, but it feels like to me its whole movepool wants me to go ranged, I dunno..?

Magikrab, Apocrowlypse (pure support)and Aeroboros (support-offense mix) are my most used right now, but tbh, Aeroboros does more offense than Magikrab, who often gets piled on by the AI, even with Beast Wall from Apo up...

Any advice here?

Best typing for Queenyx in a fusion with non-bootleg (lightning) Arkidd?

Really digging their fusion designs (both Queenkidd and Arknyx or whatever their names are).

What would be a good element for Queenyx with primarily the fusion with Arkidd in mind?

I feel like Plant or Lightning would be the best options. Plant would add New Leaf to deal with bad status, while Lightning would add no new weaknesses.

How do fusion builds fare in the Gauntlet?

Wondering if it is worth having 2 mons purely dedicated to fusion in my team. Haunt+Gambit+Dog Years

If I include status removal (New Leaf), would it work or are there roadblocks that completely gimp fusion builds?

Some seeds I found (no randomizer) for Salamagus

8675309 Salamagus Glitter

8675310 Salamagus Wind

8675311 Salamagus Lightning

8675312 Salamagus Astral

8675313 Salamagus Metal

I only needed Metal, but maybe someone else needs one of the others :)

Lightning Pyromeleon could be neat

Anyone got a seed (no randomizer) for a plant Allseer for the free Bootleg in West Harbourtown?

Planning my next run around Plant Triphinx and I don't want to wait til farming is reasonable xD

How to make the most of 'Astral Traffikrab', preferrably as a ranged attacker?

Really struggling to fit it into my team, despite loving its design so much.

All its best moves (aside from Headshot) are melee, so why does it have equal melee and ranged attack xD

Any pointers?

Astral Traffikrab Galactic Beatdown optimal modifiers?

I intend to savescum an optimal Galactic Beatdown on my Magikrab, but I am unsure what I should go for there.

Any pointers?

Aside from the western town's free bootleg, what do custom mode seeds change if randomizers are all disabled?

Like does chest loot change?

Does the seed determine learnset or sticker modifiers of the free bootleg or bootlegs in general?

Anything else?

Just found out about the code bootlegs. Best Decibelle (normal/Lightning/Glitter) to partner with Regensea?

So yeah, that.

I'm still pretty early this run (restarteritis, choice paralysis, and I haven't finished a single run, already at nearly 50 hours total playtime), and my plan is to combo my favourite humanoid designs, which also fit thematically. Decibelle (singer) and Regensea (dancer). Also Viola is my favourite partner.

Now, visually, I adore the Glitter Decibelle, but so far I am not very fond of Glitter typing. Seems very gimmicky, and not that great outside of Fungogh shenanigans? Or am I mistaken and there's a strong use case for a Glitter Decibelle? IF, then probably pure ranged support to set up more damage from Regensea? Any advice there?

Lighting is golden, which is cool too! And seems very offensively capable, but Lightning also makes a good defensive typing.

Standard is always reliable, but as I can have bootlegs, I wonder which would work best here to make Regensea shine.

Do YOU have a favourite type/element?

I wonder how other people do or do not gravitate towards the typical (or other not so typical?) elements in critter collectors.

For me, despite never being much of an outdoors guy, ever since 1st Gen Pokemon, I GREATLY love plant types or other nature elements.

Favourite starters in Pokemon are all grass types. Generally fave Pokemon is Flapple (Apple Dragon? Heck yeah!). Favourite Digimons are Palmon and Lilymon. Favourite Nexomon are Sikihob and Nara. Favourite Monster Sanctuary monster is Megarock. Favourite Cassette Beasts are Fungogh and Dandylion.

I just think these are generally artistically the most creative and 'free from conventions' designs.

What about you? I'd love to read your reasoning for your favourite types or why your favourites change constantly :)

Would Shining Kuneko make a great partner for Felix+Fungogh?

Really love Felix and his story, so I intend to restart with that duo in mind.

I'm just not sure who should be the offense and who's better as support..?

Custom start Broadcast makes me think Kuneko is the better support, but I am very unsure....

Best support mon for Regensea as a (permanent) partner?

About to restart a 2nd time, planning to beeline for my favourite partner, as I want to see as much of Viola's dialogue as possible.

I know water is supposedly a not so great type, but Regensea seems to have good coverage with access to Rapid Fire (fire) and Icicle Dart (ice).

Aside from the obvious answer (Decibelle), are there other really good support mons to make the squishy Regensea work better? I would prefer to avoid Decibelle this time.

I plan to do max difficulty as soon as I get Viola, only using my support and her Regensea, resetting when one of them goes down if I can't revive them.

Restarting with a different gameplan: how viable would a high difficulty setting pure plant type (plus bootlegs of plant types) run be?

As usual, I love all plant types in a monster catcher.

At end game, the only thing plants are really missing is a good way to deal with multiple enemies, so I used a lot of Echolocation swap ins.

With a pure (as soon as possible at least) plant team, this is not an option anymore. I COULD hunt for an air type bootleg, it should be possible to get Echolocation, right?

Or what other ways would you say would work for this kind of run to effectively deal with rogue swarms and other things like it?

And generally, is a full plant run viable at high difficult? Even without grinding bootlegs of the plant types?

How do "use next move on the list when XXX" work when you have multiple different ones?

So, I got this idea for Smogmagog:

- Critical Mass

- Chemical Imbalance

- Automation

- Shield Bash

Do CM/CI/Automation all trigger Shield Bash or does it not work like that?

Pointers for a pretty new player, generally and looking to make a tank/stall team?

So yeah, put 12 hours into the game last year and really struggled to get a hang of it. Couldn't even beat the first boss.

Now I want to try again with my favourite archetype: tanks and stallers

Had a blast on Nexomon Extinction with a full tank team, even if fights clearly took longer than they would have otherwise, so I'm not worried about battles taking longer ;)

So, you got any pointers for me? Which starter makes for a better member in a tank team? Is a pure stall team even viable or just impossible? Like DPS checks or something?
