Important info for PSVR2 users (Steamvr resolution settings)

Just wanted to share some info with everyone as it has plagued me for months. I have been trying to get heavy games (MSFS24 and Skyrim MGO) running well for months. FINALLY had a breakthrough last night. Apparently the game specific video resolution settings in SteamVR act as a multiplier for your resolution. The only thing that told me this was Fpsvr app in Steam. So for example, Global settings were at 150% Default (for some reason), and Skyrim settings were at 70%. That made my total resolution set at 105%. That high of a resolution was murdering my GPU.

Recommended settings

Set global to 100% and then change the resolution in video under the specific game to whatever you want for your actual resolution (from what I read, best is 90hz, 68%). This absolutely fixed most of the GPU throttling that I had been running into for months.

PS, Definitely get fpsvr to see what you are actually running in game.

Hope it helps people with issues I had (shimmer and jitters mostly).

UPDATE: A few guys said 150% global setting is best. I will say that in my particular skyrimvr game, they weren't wrong. It is far clearer and image than 68% and doesn't run THAT much slower. So I'd say, try both settings!!

Mic continuously shuts off in SteamVR

This headset has become the bane of my existence. Primarily using for SkyrimVR with MGO mod. Thought I was in a good spot with the Beta and fired up Skyrimnet to speak in game. After hours dicking with it found this out...

  1. Mic will keep turning off when SteamVR is activated. It will shut off. I go to Sound settings, disable it, turn the headset on and off, enable it and it will work for a bit. Then the damn thing will break again. Doesn't do that when SteamVR is off.

  2. All sound settings in SteamVR and Steam point to it.

  3. Replaced the PlayStation.dll file with the PSVR2toolkit. No effect.

  4. Reinstalled SteamVR and PSVR2 app. No changes.

  5. Using quality cable in USB3.0 slot.

I'm almost to the point of just using a different mic, but the damn thing was working not long ago. The only idea I have left is trying to change other sound drivers on the mb. ANY IDEAS WELCOME.

Ty Masterson dumps Trump immediately after primary. 😂😂😂

Ty Masterson had put up some Nazi looking billboards with him and Trump before the primary. It was on the main thoroughfare into my town, so of course it bothered me. However, I was like, "ok, ride the coat tails of someone with a 30% approval!"

The day after the primary I was talking with my friend and said, "I wonder if he will keep those up after the primary?" Sure as shit, two days later, the billboard is gone! Lolololol! I was REALLY hoping they would've stayed up. What a coward.

**It's here!!** PlayStation VR2 Toolkit v1.0.0 (experimental #1), the biggest update to PlayStation VR2 Toolkit yet, and so much more. Again, it is an **EXPERIMENTAL RELEASE**, YOU WILL HAVE ISSUES, IF YOU CAN'T TANK IT, SWITCH BACK TO PRE-RELEASE.

Not only are we releasing this update for PlayStation VR2 Toolkit, we are **releasing Ignition (Windows SteamVR drivers on Linux using Wine/Proton), and the real actual jailbreak for the PS VR2**, making this one of the biggest releases we've ever done.

A huge thank you to those who made it possible:

- <@405816957175201802>

- <@151539083599020033>

As someone who has recently come back to PC gaming after 15 years or so, I'm stunned by how everything fights each other (mainly software) and general bloat. Been reading about slimmed down versions of Windows. Seems like the business sector version is about as slimmed down as you can get (LTSC). Anyone running this with PSVR2? TIA.

Welp, I'm done dickin with that! I've been trying for DAYS to get the psvr2 working with MSFS24 on the PC. I have a pretty nice PC so I thought, what the heck. AMD RYZEN 5 5600X, AMD RX 6700XT with 32gb of ram. F*cker refuses to work well. I've tried every setting you can imagine. Overclocking, bios changed, fing everything. Could only really get it working well in low graphics. Sits at like 30fps or less. Meanwhile in non-vr mode the thing runs great! Even with graphics cranked.

I guess I'll just play it on PS5 unless someone has any ideas to get it to work better.

TIA
