Hey everyone I recently got into the ADN at BC. So I’m looking for some insight and I hope this doesn’t come off as a hate post! I talked to other RN students when I did my CNA there and I got a LOT of warnings but nothing specific on a prof named Diane. Wanted to know if anyone has further insight into what these warnings entail. All I got was, “you’ll see if I get in…”
Also, if anyone had any insight on what to expect? Any notes, what I should focus on, basically anything that can help prep me or like help me through the program. Studying tips as well! I did a previous double bachelor so I’m used to the rough life of school. But everyone’s scaring me into thinking I made the wrong choice. As in the first quarter is going to knock me off my feet. Heard all the exams are ATI, so ANY and ALL studying tips to help me get through those exams because if it’s anything like the TEAS style I’m scared. But also VERY excited because my CNA clinical/classes were so much fun!!

Hey everyone. I came here to ask if anyone’s ever gotten off the waitlist for the ADN Bellevue College. My friend A would have had 16 points if he got full points on the video. But since he’s waitlisted I’m guessing he got between 13 to 14 points total. As my friend B got in and assuming full video points 15.
He’s waitlisted and we wanted to see if there realistically is any hope of him getting in to see if anyone’s gotten in off the waitlist. I got accepted at 17 points assuming full for the video. So I’m really happy but I was hoping we would do nursing as a trio not a duo and it’s hard to celebrate because I’m happy but I’m also sad. He’s really upset with himself since we were all so confident he’d get in.

Hey everyone. I’m the sister in law 23F, but I’ve know this family for 10+ years (well my husband and his 2 brothers) and the rest for almost 5 years.
I have a little sister, Kaylee 13F. She’s getting resentful asf because her parents won’t let her go out at all unless one of us is accompanying her. It took me up until this year, to convince her mom to let her go to a birthday party at a trampoline park… Only if her brother dropped her off and was in the area.
They’re so sheltered, they had shitty cheap Walmart phones up until this year where they got iPhones because of a deal we found. No internet (until next week) because we’re moving and I’m paying for starlink. Her parents are immigrants and think paranoia to the max. 80% of their cousins had kids before 18. And they think that the same will happen. Or something outrageous will. I get that point of view but coming from someone who LOVED my mom, but turned so resentful, to the point it took me 4 years to talk to her again because of how sheltered I was and rebelled. I don’t want that to happen to Kaylee.
From what I know her parents had the eldest son at 18, her dad was into drugs when they met. And they got to go out and all that for their childhood but they’re so strict when it comes to Kaylee?? That’s so unfair. They’re moving to a house 10 min from her friend and Kaylee wants to hangout on the weekends since schools out. How would I convince her mom & dad to let her go out. Her dads answer is “no,” and the he gets mad. And her mom’s answer is “talk to your dad.” She comes to me with so much anger already at age 13. And every year it’s getting worse. She has 0 social skills, she only started talking to me “normally” 2 years ago. Before she was so shy she could barely speak to me. Her dad has mad anger issues, and her mom, even when she cries about her friends, ignores her. I’m sorry but the way they parent is how not to parent 101.
I don’t want to get involved in a way where I’m challenging their authority. Yes it’s their kids I understand that. But they’re so sheltered they know nothing!!! The other daughter’s hygiene I’ve only learned recently is so bad. To give it perspective it’s like cave men. How she deals with cramps is tells them to just take medicine and deal with it. Before it wasn’t even give them medicine I had to tell her that.
Oh and they can’t even cook… like not even microwave ramen because their dad gets mad… sorry if I say “they,” it’s cuz Kaylee has an older sister by 2 years. I feel like I’m just rambling at this point but hope this gives the picture of what’s going on.
And to top it off, friends can’t come over either and they share a room with their parents… This whole situation has made me realize I don’t want kids either and since I’m married to the eldest that’s all I hear. He doesn’t want kids either. Like how can you ask for grandkids when you can’t even raise your children properly. That they’re coming to their sister in law, saying “big sister I hate them so much.”

The style I’m having the most trouble shopping for is super girly kinda like coquette? The other one just likes trendy clothes so it’s a bit easier. The issue is let’s call her Kaylee (13) is I believe 5’11 so shopping for her is soooo hard. And Haven (15) the one who likes really girl clothes is so short 4’9. I thought about Becxin in stonebriar but they unfortunately closed all locations. Preferably like to go to big malls. We’re from Krum so I don’t mind driving 1h out.
I don’t mind getting them dresses but I’ve already given them so many from Altar’d State so hoping for other stores!!
