Something related to my girlfriend 🫠

I met a girl named X and we got into a relationship. During the relationship, I genuinely loved her a lot, tried to care for her, reassure her, and never wanted to hurt her. She had told me before that I made her feel very loved and cared for.

X has a difficult family situation. Her parents often argue, and whenever those problems happen, she tends to shut people out instead of talking about them. She doesn't like discussing her family issues and usually pushes me away whenever they happen.

A while ago, she suddenly broke up with me. The main reason she gave wasn't that I had done something wrong, but that she believed staying with her would hurt me because of everything she was going through. She repeatedly said things like, "You'll get hurt," and even asked me to block her instead of her blocking me because she thought she would only hurt me more.

Around the same time, she also said something that hurt me a lot. She said she missed her ex because he used to help her solve her family problems, and at one point she even said, "I want him back, I love him a lot." Later, however, she also said she hated him, and she kept assuring me that she did not break up with me because of him. This left me very confused because her statements seemed contradictory.

Despite the breakup, she never cut contact with me. She never blocked me, and she continued talking to me almost every day. During one night when I was having a panic attack and couldn't sleep, I begged her to talk to me. She initially said she couldn't talk because she was busy, but after I asked if she was still there for me, she replied "Yes." I told her I loved her and that I would always be there for her, and she told me to sleep well, wished me good night, and later thanked me for always being there.

After that, we continued talking. Sometimes she told me things like:

"You make me feel loved."

"You're there for me too right?" → She replied "Yes."

She thanked me for always being there.

She wished me good night, told me to take care, sleep well, and even sent a heart reaction.

At other times, she also said confusing things such as:

"I'm not interested anymore."

"Maybe because I already thought in my mind to leave you."

"I don't know."

"I don't remember."

Because of these mixed messages, I became very anxious and kept asking her for reassurance. I often asked whether she still loved me, whether I still meant something to her, and whether she would miss me if I was gone. Sometimes she would answer positively, and other times she would seem uncertain.

For example:

When I asked if she would miss me if I disappeared, she said yes.

When I asked if she would ever forget me, she replied, "Are you crazy? Why wouldn't I remember you?"

When I asked if I make her feel loved, she replied, "You do."

When I asked if she was there for me, she said yes.

She also once explained that maybe she lost feelings because she had already prepared herself mentally to leave me. However, she still continued talking to me afterward.

From my perspective, it feels like she still cares about me because she keeps talking to me, worries about me sleeping, thanks me for being there, tells me to take care, and reassures me at times. At the same time, she also says things that make it sound like she has lost romantic feelings or is unsure of them.

Because of these mixed signals, I've become extremely anxious. I struggle to sleep because I constantly overthink every conversation and every message. I keep looking for reassurance that she still loves me, but even after she reassures me, I start doubting again after a while.

My biggest question now is whether she's simply emotionally confused and overwhelmed because of everything happening in her life, or whether she has genuinely fallen out of love with me while still caring deeply about me as a person.
