Annually my family travels across the country to spend a week with my extended family at Oglebay. We also occasionally spend Thanksgiving there. We rent several cottages or stay in the large luxury cabin all together.

This year was so depressing as every cottage our family stayed in had multiple issues one so bad that my brother and his family left early… other than our family it seemed like one other cottage was being stayed in! This is not the norm… the indoor pool was not maintained… cloudy water and questionable debris… and the outdoor pool full of black looking mildew or mold. The playground is basically a hazard at this point… in deep need of at least a turf reset.

The zoo was wonderful as always and the lodge does look beautiful…. But wow what a shame to let all of the cottages go so far… the roof of my brother’s cottage was leaking so bad right next to the fireplace and TV and then several rocks ended up actually falling loose from near the ceiling of the fireplace. Extremely dangerous, hence why he left early.

I don’t really know the point of this post but just wanted to share my sadness over it all… Oglebay is such a special place that deserves to be around for future generations to enjoy, just like the Oglebay family intended.

I just got an email giving show tips for SPAC. I thought odd, I didn’t get tiks for SPAC but I did go to Bristow a few weeks ago…

I go to warehouse and check and I actually have 2 PIT tiks for SPAC!!!! I don’t have a hotel or anything bc I swear I did not get tiks like I only put in for top tier tiks and didn’t get any.

I have a toddler and am up sometimes at night, was there a time to opt in for a second round of tickets or something? I am baffled, when I downloaded my Bristow tiks several weeks ago they were not in there!

Anyways my in laws are set to arrive that day so I’m not even sure if we can go so one of you people may be able to buy the pair from me for face value… but if anyone has leads on how I can get a room nearby let me know!

Our family had an unknown/possible run in with a bat and had to start the rabies series… for my third shot we will be on the Cape, I’d prefer to not have to go to the ER for this. Does anyone know if there is a location on Cape, Plymouth, or South Shore for this?

I live in MA, USA

In the middle of the night something startled me I woke up looked around, husband was snoring figured it was that and went back to bed.

This morning I woke up had coffee then went to take glass off and put contacts in and notice what looks like a bat bite under my eyebrow but above my eye. Had crusty perfect little blood blobs on each puncture site. Doesn’t hurt.

Went to urgent care and they said probably a spider. Without seeing a bat nothing to be done.

Come home and search house for a bat, don’t find anything… cat acting normal.

Call pest company and they say earliest they can get here is 2 days. My husband checks attic and doesn’t see any bats but finds what looks like mice poop.

Then I call local health department and they say no bat nothing to do but watch for symptoms and look for bat…and have bat inspection… what?!

My biggest issue is my 1 yr old daughter was sleeping next to me and I want us all to have treatment.

Update: I had a specialist come by today and he did find minimal evidence of bats in our attic and in our crawl space that is accessible from our primary bedroom where I was sleeping and where my daughter also sleeps.

Since I can’t be sure do we treat this as an exposure?

Update: MGH recommended my entire family be vaccinated so we were. Wasn’t terrible.

I finally have my mri guided biopsy tomorrow after waiting 4 weeks to the day of finding out I needed a biopsy, 4 weeks and 2 days since my MRI.

It’s a 1.7 cm NME with persistent and plateau kinetics. Birads 4a. I am nursing and they forgot to put that in the bio section so the radiologist didn’t know I’m nursing. My PCP who is an angel looked at my MRI from last year and this new one and said that there isn’t much change on the report and she made sure the radiologist knew I am nursing, they said still do biopsy to be sure- which I am all for but this wait has been brutal.

Now today I see a study that states outcomes are far better when you have surgery within 8 weeks of diagnosis for BC with surgery as first line of treatment. It’s going to be into week 5 by the time I get my biopsy results. It would be unlikely I would have surgery before July 4th and the
8 week mark. I just feel so sick over all of this and I am so upset with my care team who I see from a high risk program as I have a 24% risk of breast cancer. My mammogram from September was normal as well as my MRI when I was 4-5 months postpartum last January 2025.

Is this a normal timeline? It seems outrageous! Welcoming all positive vibes and prayers! ❤️

Anybody have recs for restaurants near the venue before the show? We plan to meet friends we haven’t seen in a long time before the show for a late lunch before heading to the venue.

Will we be able to get an uber afterward the show?
