Husband fired

My husband was let go from his job today. He is the sole provider for our family. We have never dealt with this so not sure how to move forward. The reason for his termination was due to performance but no specifics were given. He has been given no performance reviews or has had any reason to believe his job was in jeopardy.

We just had our third child so obviously this is an already stressful time.

He has been told he can resign and receive two weeks pay or he can be terminated as of today. We are concerned if he accepts a voluntary resignation that we will not be able to obtain unemployment benefits. But they’re giving him an ultimatum so this makes things tricky. Does anyone have any insight on the best way to move forward? Any help, insight, or legal advice would be so appreciated.

Cat Euthanasia

This is kind of a niche question, but hoping someone can offer advice. We have an elderly cat and we have decided it is ready to put her down due to a variety of medical reasons. She hasn’t been receiving veterinarian care the past few years because she was getting very aggressive and it was overwhelming for everyone involved. I don’t even know where to start this process. I know lap of Love offers in-home euthanasia, but right now we cannot afford that. Has anyone had a positive experience going to a clinic? We’re over in Bellevue, but are willing to travel for the right fit. Thanks in advance.

CW: Pet Loss

We have two elderly cats, around 16 years old. Both of them have health issues, but we have made the decision that it is time to euthanize one of them.

Within the past year, my husband took our kitty to our local vet and she told my husband while she was old she didn’t think it was time to euthanize. That was really hard for my husband and I to hear because we disagree and now are a little worried that we’re making the wrong decision. I wasn’t at this appointment so I’m not sure my husband vocalized what we were seeing and maybe the vet was just trying to tell him what she thought he wanted to hear.

She has started urinating around the house, doesn’t seek attention, is not active at all, is losing weight and we believe it is time. We cannot afford an in-home euthanasia that would cost $1000. Does anyone have any recommendations for euthanasia services that are affordable? Also, I’m a little nervous about having to defend our stance on wanting to euthanize our kitty. I do not think it’s fair to wait until she is suffering more to euthanize her.

Lastly, would it be a good idea to bring her brother? I’ve heard it can be helpful for siblings to sniff after the procedure is done? Any advice on the best way to go about this because I am concerned that he will be distraught when he realizes she’s gone.

Thanks for the help.

2026 Touring or Elite

Just looking to get some opinions on whether to Elite trim is worth it. For those that chose the Touring, why not the Elite. And for those that chose the Elite, do you feel your choice is justified? My local Honda dealer just sold an Elite for $48,000 MSRP so that's where my negotiating will start. Thanks!

Opinions on best year and trim

We are looking at purchasing new slightly used. Which year/trim does everyone prefer? I drive a 13 year old car so anything will be an upgrade to me. Mainly excited about the dvd player, lumbar support, apple car play. Thanks!

On the hunt for used car

Looking at two used Odysseys, hoping to get some feedback. Is the newer car/higher trim worth the extra money?

2014 Touring, 75,000 miles. $17,995
Excellent service history, timing belt completed.

2018 Elite, 111,000 miles. $22,350
Nice drive, obviously higher end compared to 2014. Good service history, timing belt not done yet. They are open to negotiating.

Thanks everyone!
