IS CSE REALLY DEAD?

So my relatives who stay at US told me not to take CSE as its situation is becoming worse and worse due to AI shit but when i see the placements of any clg cse has the highest and the gap between cse/cs related branches and the next best branch is like around 8-10lpa so my question is will it really die in the near future?

Extension of BS Research admission date in IISc Bangalore

Guys, the registration deadline for admission to IISc Bangalore was 7 June, which was also the date of the IAT examination itself. This means that the application portal closed even before the IAT results and ranks were declared.

This is highly unreasonable, as students were required to complete the admission registration process without knowing their performance or rank in the examination. Candidates should have a fair opportunity to make an informed decision after the results are announced.

Subject: Representation regarding closure of BS (Research) admission application portal before declaration of IAT results

Respected Sir,

I, an aspirant seeking admission to the Bachelor of Science (Research) Programme at IISc through the IISER Aptitude Test (IAT) channel.

It is respectfully submitted that the admission application portal for the BS (Research) Programme based on IAT rank was closed on 07.06.2026, the very day the IAT examination was conducted. Since admission through the IAT channel is based on the rank obtained in the examination, applicants are unable to furnish their rank details at the time of application submission. And also normally any admission procedure is only starts after declaration of its qualifying exam result.

Many candidates may reasonably believe that the absence of IAT results prevents them from completing the application process, which may lead to deserving students losing the opportunity to be considered for admission. As the IAT examination and result schedule are determined independently, applicants have no control over the timing of result declaration. Since all exams are conducted during this period, applicants are concentrating on exams and not having enough time to know the admission procedure of each institute.

Further, the practice of requiring candidates to apply for admission before the declaration of the qualifying examination result is not commonly followed. Owing to this unusual admission process and the lack of widespread awareness regarding the provision for updating IAT results later, many students did not submit their applications within the prescribed deadline. As a result, several deserving candidates may be deprived of the opportunity to compete for admission despite having appeared for the IAT examination.

It is pertinent to note that other premier institutions, including IIT Madras and IIT Guwahati, which are also offering admissions based on IAT ranks, have kept their application process open until 22 June. In comparison, the closure of the IISc application portal before the declaration of IAT ranks has caused considerable concern among aspirants.

In view of the above, I humbly request the Institute to:

Reopen the BS (Research) admission portal for a reasonable short period to enable candidates who could not apply earlier due to the non-availability of IAT results and lack of awareness regarding the admission procedure.

Such a measure would ensure fairness, transparency, and equal opportunity to all candidates seeking admission through the IAT mode.

I shall be grateful for your kind consideration of this request.

Thanking you.

Yours faithfully,

IAT Applicant
