How do I get this underwater/ muffled effect, what is it called?

I attached an image of a specific sweep that uses this. I know how to do 3 string rolls with my pointer finger on the 3 highest strings, going from my fingertip to the flesh part of my finger where the fingerprint is, then pulling back and using the last portion of flesh before my joint. But that doesn't work here, the first 2 notes are fine, but instead of the joint on my middle finger going below the neck for the last note (B string), the high E string digs into it and I can't lift the top of my finger enough to mute the G string. Can anyone explain how to play this without the notes blending? I cant seem to find a tutorial on YouTube that explains this.

I want my dreads a similar size to goodguydar, the guy in the picture, but dude acts so mysterious I cant find a clear image of him to show my loctician (I'm so tired of rappers acting like this).

Does anyone have a better picture of him, or, if any loctician are seeing this, are either of these photos clear enough to do someone's hair based off of?

Im trying to let these 2 strand twists lock up so that they will look similar to bleood's dreads. Is there anything I should change?
