Why is Elsa treated like the main hero when Anna carries both Frozen movies?

I’m sure this question has been answered before, but my toddler recently became *deeply* obsessed with Frozen. As in, I have now watched Frozen I and Frozen II approximately one thousand times.

My question is this: why is there such a huge push for Elsa over Anna?

I genuinely don’t understand how Anna isn’t viewed as the main hero and protagonist of both movies. Anna is the one constantly sacrificing for others, putting herself in danger, and showing up for everyone. Meanwhile Elsa, while obviously struggling and complex, seems to repeatedly put Anna in terrible situations.

Don’t get me wrong, Elsa is iconic and “Let It Go” is a cultural phenomenon. But Anna deserves way more love in pop culture than she gets. She’s loyal, brave, funny, optimistic, and honestly the emotional heart of both movies.

Anyway, that’s my rant from someone currently living in an endless Frozen loop with a toddler.

Curious How Everyone Would Rank the LBI Towns

I’m very familiar with LBI and spend a lot of time all over the island, but I’m curious how others would rank the towns based on beaches, restaurants, overall vibe, and desirability to own/live there. Beach quality is probably my biggest factor.

My rankings would probably be:

  1. Beach Haven

Obviously has the most going for it. Great restaurants, nightlife, beautiful homes, and honestly one of the best towns for kids with Fantasy Island, mini golf, Bay Village, etc. The only con is the teenagers that roam around in the summer but hey, I was once one of those teenagers going to Ketch teen nights.

  1. Surf City

Super cute town with a lot of nice shops and spots like How You Brewing. Has a great classic LBI feel. Only downside is depending where you stay it can be a LONG walk from the bay to the beach.

  1. Ship Bottom

Honestly feels like the up and coming town to me. A lot of improvements over the years and some great spots like The Local, Ferrara’s for a morning Taylor ham egg and cheese, and Ship Bottom Shellfish. Looking forward for the old CVS to turn into an arcade! Their bay beach also seems to be one of the best on the island for little kids and the actual beach is huge.

  1. Harvey Cedars/North Beach

Quiet and beautiful with some really nice spots mixed in. Love the Friday market at Black Eyed Susan’s and the overall peaceful feel of the area.

  1. Barnegat Light

The lighthouse and nature here are amazing. Love Kubels and sad about Jen’s Links. Feels very different from the rest of the island in a good way and is probably one of the prettiest parts of LBI.

  1. Holgate

Love the bird preserve and the natural untouched feel. Definitely unique compared to the rest of the island.

  1. Brant Beach

Nice area but personally only really a go to for me if you’re staying there.

  1. Loveladies

Beautiful homes but feels mostly like it’s for the rich and famous.

Curious how everyone else would rank the towns.

LA Santa Monica trip with little kids advice

Heading to LA and Santa Monica soon with 3 small kids and looking for travel tips from locals or parents who have done it. We definitely want to do the Hollywood Walk of Fame, the Chinese Theater, and Griffith Observatory. Would love recommendations on the best areas to stay in or near Downtown LA with kids and any family friendly hotels that are convenient for sightseeing. Also wondering how public transportation is with little kids and strollers and whether it’s easier to rent a car or rely on Uber/public transit. Any must do kid friendly spots in Santa Monica or LA would also be appreciated. Trying to make the trip fun without spending half the vacation stuck in traffic

Hey everyone,

I plan on driving to the Philly Asian Market with my family one of these weekends from DE.

- What’s the best time to arrive to actually get a parking spot?

- What are the best parking spots there?

- If it gets too crowded, are there decent neighboring parking options nearby?

Also, how crowded does it usually get on a nice Saturday? Any tips for visiting with little kids and what’s your kids favorite food stand? Is bringing a wagon to contain my children too big? And, how is the picnic area? Do people tailgate there?

Thanks in advance!
