BLS CPR for CCBC Program Maryland
Cautionary tale for anyone taking the Sleep Technology program at CCBC, don’t make same mistakes as me. I missed the CPR course offered by the school so I had to go out and get mine done independently. Next mistake, I went and did an Adult and Pediatric CPR course offered by Red Cross. Tried uploading the certificate to the clinical requirements and it wouldn’t go through. Nowhere did it explain why it wasn’t processed, I didn’t get an explanation until I called the clinical requirement site where the representative explained it had to be a BLS course and not an Adult and Pediatric CPR course. I asked if that was the only issue and he said yes.
Then I took a BLS course offered by Red Cross, tried uploading the certificate and it still wouldn’t be processed. No explanation why. I call again and the representative said that the BLS course must be taken through the American Heart Association and not Red Cross. Nowhere on the clinical requirements website does it say that the Red Cross is not accepted.
Now I have spent a ridiculous amount on these courses because I missed the initial class which is on me, but also of the lack of explanation regarding what is required and what will or won’t be accepted by the clinical requirement site.
Tl;dr - if you need to take a CPR course for this program in case you missed the one offered by the school, make sure it’s a BLS course and it’s through the American Heart Association and NOT Red Cross. Otherwise it won’t be accepted by the clinical requirements
