If you still play OG Black Flag over Resynced, why?

Not judging anyone, just curious to see what your reasonings might be. Resynced has its flaws too.

Anyone else seem to have some kind of phobia of Praying Mantises and Grasshoppers?

I was watching a video about the “mantis beings” and I decided to look up photos of praying mantises. I tried to look at them for longer than 5 seconds but I could not. I started to feel afraid in a way I haven’t really felt before, my back started to feel tingly even. I wonder if I may have had some kind of encounter as a child…. I was always afraid of grey aliens too, even the x-files theme song would freak me out. I’m starting to feel like maybe I had some kind of encounter that has been hidden from me, somewhere deep in my mind. Anyone else feel the same?

This has to mean something, right?

I was watching Brand New Day in theaters and I instantly noticed when the main character calculated that the minimum distance the antagonist could use their telepathy powers to control people, is 33 Feet. Every time I see the number 33 anywhere I almost ALWAYS assume it’s something related to masonry or other numerology stuff. Because how often do you see the number 33 just regularly in your day to day life? I usually don’t. And the fact its in reference to telepathy makes it even more intentional to me.

Anyone else's game randomly force closing???

This just started happening today. No error message, no freezing, I'll just be randomly playing SnD and the game will instantly close itself, no telling when exactly it happens bc it's random. The only thing I notice is that it tells me the game didn't shut down correctly when I try to launch it again, but there's no other inkling of an error. It was working fine yesterday and the days before.

I think i’m gonna wait a while before I play this game tbh.

I had already started but there’s so many little issues and big ones like the DX11 errors that I don’t wanna have to play through a broken game before I get to play the better version of it that will probably soon come with a day 1 patch.

UPDATE: They just dropped an update today. Right away during the mission where you rob the sugar plantation, the audio for the fireworks was already out of sync with the fireworks themselves, and then I got another DX12 error not even 20 minutes into playing the game which ended up crashing it. Are they being fr rn? So glad I got this game at at a discount because I would NEVER pay 70 bucks for a game to be this buggy.

IMO, they overdid it with the fighting and parkour.

It’s like they gave us what we asked mostly but then they ramped it up 10x. The parkour in this game makes me feel like Kenway is more of a superhero than a pirate assassin. Same with the fighting. I know even the OG BF wasn’t strictly realistic either but you could make yourself believe it. But the movement now is way too fast, like they think just because it’s fast that makes it fluid. The fighting also lacks finesse entirely. I know he’s a pirate but he is also a pirate assassin. Compared to the OG, it feels like he’s doing a power move every time he swings his sword, and the stealth kills seem so loud and fast that it barely even feels like I’m actually being sneaky. I can’t even do a double assassination without pouncing on them, even if I’m literally right behind them where you’d think I’d be able to do the ‘double face stab’ move once I get close enough. And I also think they made the parkour way too easy and it really kills the fun challenge of traversing rooftops. I guess it’s also the sound design too, the sound of the stealth kills sound too heavy and the animations feel inhumanly sped up whereas in the classic title they felt more natural. Does anyone else feel this way? It feels very “ADHD” if that makes sense lol. It just all feels a bit too fast.

Can I run it at 60fps? What do y'all think?

I'm thinking about whether or not I should wait to buy the game until I upgrade my GPU, if I even can with the prices right now. But as long as I can get a stable 60fps WITH DLSS performance at high settings (probably no raytracing though) I'll buy it.

THIS may just be the ENDGAME fix to fix the connection problem with Quest + Link Cable.

I come to you after an entire day of troubleshooting with chatGPT, checking every aspect of my connection from my Quest 2 headset to my PC. Uploading log files, entering commands in the ADB environment, performing every step in the book that was mentioned on reddit, trying Meta's solutions, entirely removing everything related to meta on my PC with Revo Uninstaller Pro (even removes leftover registry entries) and here's what I found.

If you thought it was your link cable, it most likely is not as long as you have a good 3rd party cable (I have an AMVR one and it works great.

If you thought it was your headset, it's not.

If you thought it was the meta horizon link software itself, it's not (at least in part)

If you thought it was some power saving settings that I'm sure you already tried changing, it's not,

The problem, that many of us have been having for so many years is that our Quest headsets will just randomly freeze after any random amount of time using the headset. Sometimes it happens within 5 minutes or less, sometimes it happens after 15 or 30 minutes. And then we have to unplug our headsets, restart the OVR Server, and plug it back in, but we also have to enable USB device access sometimes for it to be detected properly. We all know how this goes.

I was able to verify through USB Tree View that when the freeze happens, the headset never actually disconnects. It still lists as fully connected and even the Meta Horizon Link App still detects it as connected, and if I go into the ADB shell, through command prompt, it is also still detected as connected and it shows its version number. Working with GPT I checked off everything that could have been the issue, and it turns out that nothing you would have assumed was the problem, was actually the problem.

So I kept digging through reddit threads, and I found one, lone comment that didn't really get much attention, but the user said this, attached below. So I tried it, AND WHAT DO YOU KNOW, IT JUST WORKS. I shid you not, it JUST WORKS. No need to restart OVR server, no need to click on USB device access when that little pop up in the headset comes up that you might miss because it goes away too soon, I just plugged it in, and went into quest link, and it JUST WORKS. I've been inside BigscreenVR for around two hours now and it has not crashed or lagged on me in the slightest. It's a miracle. And I truly would have never expected it to be the NVIDIA drivers, let alone every driver since January. Which makes sense, because I had stopped using my Q2 since them because of the connection issues.

NOW, if you want to fix the issue once and for all, (IDK if this also applies to Quest 3 and 3s but you can try with those too,) you need to download that specific January 2026 NVIDIA driver. The version number is 591.74, and you're absolutely going to want to keep some copies of that installer all over your PC just incase you accidentally delete it lol. Because so far, I've been able to use my quest 2 headset longer than I ever had been since then. And as far as I can tell it seems like it's gonna hold.

I had tried ALVR, and Steam Link wirelessly, and while it diiid seem to work, the sacrifice in quality and latency even in wired mode was just something I could not tolerate. I don't know what proprietary magic Meta does with quest link wired, but it really just looks and performs better than the rest for me (when it works, which right now it does.

Now there are some important considerations to make here, though. It IS your cable if: the cable is disconnecting and reconnecting right after. I say this because my AMVR cable has a y splitter built into it for fast charging, and I find that sometimes when I use that fast charging feature the process of it switching between different charging modes or whatever it may be causes it to disconnect and reconnect itself, but not using the fast charging feature completely resolves that for me. Additionally, please make sure the cable you use doesn't wiggle around too much in the USB C port on your headset. If it does, even the slightest movements will cause it to disconnect (happened to me in the past and I assumed my quest 3's port was the problem when it was just the cable itself.) And to eliminate any other vaiables, make sure it's plugged into one of the red USB 3 ports on the back of your PC. AND, to be extra sure, go into the Oculus Debug Tool and make sure you have every value reset to its defaults. And leave it like that after you install the old NVIDIA driver, and use it for a day. If it works for the day, then you can start adjusting the quality settings.

And when I said "(at least in part)" to it not being the meta horizon link software, i'm assuming whatever changes NVIDIA made to their graphics pipeline with the drivers must be causing some big conflicts with the oculus software that as of so many driver revisions since January have not been addressed.

But yea so far for me this seems to be the most promising fix i've had for my Quest 2 with Oculus link. Send massive kudos to this commenter.

The most lucky thing happened to me rn

Got a chop, then a gunship, died, and then got a care package, AND THE CARE PACKAGE WAS A CHOPPER SO I HAD TWO CHOPS AND A GUNSHIP 😭😭😭 launched one chop after another, and then the gunship, and ended the game right there holy shit the other team could not believe it 😭😭😭 I was so in disbelief I didnt even think to record. And the best part is that this is something that you can ONLY do in MW2022. MW3 doesnt let you use gunship with a chopper let alone have two of em

Did we forget the game is rigged?

COD in general really. But there’s times where I come back to the game and its so obvious that the game is giving me an insanely unfair advantage, only for it to do a complete 180 with the same players the next round around and I end up on or near the bottom of the leaderboard. Its to a point where I know when to stop playing if I feel the game is intentionally nerfing me for too long.
