Do serial cheaters ever change?

I am post divorce at this point, but I still struggle with the confusion and gaslighting I experienced in my marriage.

My ex lied and cheated throughout our 20 year relationship, and had at least 30 affairs (that I know of). He was abusive in other ways as well, including physical, emotional, spiritual and financial.

11 days after I filed for divorce, he announced he was in a “new” relationship on social media and is now married to this person. His entire family and even some of mine still support him and don’t seem to see how sick he really is, even after he voluntarily terminated his parental rights to our daughters and no longer has to pay any child support. He still blames me for everything, especially giving up his parental rights.

Recently, he has also become this super religious person, writing articles on a Substack and self publishing a book of his religious essays. It makes me question my reality. Is it possible for a serial cheating, abuser and deadbeat father to change and become a better person? Or is this just more facade to hide his double life?

After surviving divorce and family court, I thought we were free 😩 Now my abuser is crying about not having his kids on Substack even though he chose to terminate his rights- what can I do?

My ex-spouse has a documented history of violence, including 911 calls for help made by myself and my oldest child, the latter ended with his arrest for a$$aulting me. He has a history of alcohol and marijuana abuse and he claims to be a s3gs addict who was serially unfaithful (at least 30 affair partners) throughout our 16-year marriage. After a very contentious divorce, I went back to family court protect my very traumatized children. The court granted my request to limit his access to our children and reduced his possession and access to 2x/month supervised visitation. This was only temporary. We were supposed to go to trial, but after resisting the court ordered psychological evaluation for more than a year, my ex decided he did not want to follow through with it. He also stopped paying child support and medical anymore and then filed his own lawsuit to voluntarily terminate his parental rights. We were all relieved because we are all scared of him. His voluntary termination was finalized about a year and a half ago. There was also a separate court order for the back child support and medical expenses he still owed, most of which he has not paid. My question is this - I recently learned he has been writing on Substack, claiming he is this deeply spiritual person while also crying about how he “lost a life” with his kids - he has even compared himself to Job from the Bible. He covertly blaming me and the district court judge for his current circumstances despite choosing to terminate. Is there anything I can do legally to address this? I have not yet filed an enforcement for the arrears and wondered if I could bring this into the enforcement suit?
