I recently joined Bennet and I live nearby so I thought joining the hostel was going to be a dumb decision and opted not to. Turns out that was a rookie mistake.

I have this feeling of constant FOMO and see that tight-nit groups have already been formed and I can't seem to make close connections much

Maybe it's just me, but feeling of being Outsider as a Dayscholar is very strong here, What am I supposed to do? How am I as a Dayscholar Supposed to increase my social Interaction and general Experience.

Please answer me seriously, I want genuine advice 😭😭

For caste-based discrimination to end, A major step is removing caste-based reservations

As Creating Circular Causality won't help the situation; it's very clear our generation is receptive to caste-based reform and the destruction of caste-based discrimination. If Reservation isn't removed, deep hatred that leads to casteism will fester whether we like it or not.

Also, looking for a truly fair and well-adjusted examination system where someone's merit is judged, with caste-based reservation, is a hoax. Reservations should be given to groups that actually need them, such as the EWG and PWD, which both face clear disadvantages compared to a normal Participant/examinee.

Caste-based reservation was historically meant to be a temporary band-aid to help lower-caste people adjust into society, but it has now turned into a political tool which is used to gain votes and run from the actual responsibility of fighting that discrimination. This is simply unfair for both students and lower-caste people.

Looking at this issue with a modern and unbiased view its very clear Caste Based reservation will never go away if we don't stand against it. We should be asking for a solution to the caste Discrimination Problem instead of a bandaid/temporary soluton like reservation is currently acting as.

Removing reservation is a step towards Fair Examinations and also towards a hate-free, caste-free society where equality can actually be achieved. Seeing a fellow lower-caste friend get average marks and get his dream college while you sit there with 90th percentile with nothing but private Universities as your option will definitely drive a wedge between those friendships and relationships in general

Hi, I am going to be joining Bennett this year as a Dayscholar, so I had a few questions I want to clear up before the session starts

1. What will Dayscholars do on reporting Day?
2. Can students come using their own transport? Where can I park my Vehicle
3. What will be the Timings for the Dayscholars? Will we be kicked out after a certain time?
4. Are there events specifically for the Hosteliers which the Dayscholars Can't Attend?
5. Is being a Dayscholar a disadvantage of any kind in Bennett Uni?
6. How strong are friendships between Dayscholars and Hosteliers?
7. Is there any kind of Discrimination by the students or Profs for Dayscholars?
8. How are the Sport Facilities for the day scholars?
9. Where do day scholars who bring their own Food eat? Is the canteen mandatory for everyone?
10. Can day scholars enjoy some creature Comforts like Food Carts, Late Events/meets like the Hosteliers can?

Does Bennet offer scholarships for students who perform well during their time at Bennet, such as a high CGPA? If the answer is yes! then,

>1. How much scholarship do you get?
2. Can you maintain it/How long does it last
3. What is the eligibility criteria
4. Are there other scholarships you can get during the College

I am having a hard time getting into a fresher's GC for some reason. If someone is in one of the officially big ones, please add me too. I will be joining soon too and hope to see you, people soon :)
