What driving feedback would you actually want from your Polestar?

Hey everyone,

For a while now, we have been working on driving feedback and scoring inside Aximote. The idea is not just to show raw vehicle data, but to turn the data that is available through Android Automotive into feedback that is actually useful for drivers.

Our current direction is a general Driving Score, built from several sub-scores such as:

  • Eco / efficiency feedback
  • Regeneration behaviour
  • Braking behaviour
  • Acceleration behaviour
  • Cornering behaviour

The goal is to make this as fair and comparable as possible across different cars. Since things like route, temperature, traffic or elevation are hard for the driver to influence, we are also looking into route normalization, so the score reflects more of what the driver can actually control.

For example, instead of only saying “your efficiency was X”, we want to answer questions like:

  • Did you make good use of regeneration?
  • Were braking and acceleration smooth?
  • Did you enter corners too fast?
  • Where could the drive have been more efficient or more comfortable?
  • What changed compared to your usual driving style?

But before we go too far in one direction, we would really like to hear from Polestar drivers:

What kind of driving feedback would actually be useful to you?

And what would you definitely not want to be judged on?

Thanks a lot for your Feedback.

Feedback on our Volvo in-car app

Hey everyone,

I built Aximote with two friends over the last year. The idea is to make the data your car already has more useful while driving and easier to understand afterwards.

In the in-car app, you can configure your own live dashboard with KPIs like acceleration, recuperation, energy usage, G-force, lateral movement, pitch, roll and more.

On the mobile app, you can go deeper into trips and charging sessions with things like temperature impact, speed limits, detailed consumption values, charging history and dashboard stats.

We also recently added CSV export, API access and a Home Assistant integration for users who want to work with their vehicle data outside the app.

We are currently testing Aximote a lot with Polestar owners, but since many Volvo models also run on Android Automotive / Google built-in, we would really like to hear what you guys think.

What data would you actually want to see while driving? What kind of analysis would be useful after a trip or charging session? What should we improve?

It’s available as “Aximote” in the Google Play Store and App Store, in case you want to try it.

Thanks a lot!

Polestar Home Assistant integration — looking for feedback

Hey everyone,

a few weeks ago I posted here about Aximote, an app I am building with two friends to make Polestar data more useful in the car and on the phone.

One topic that was mentioned by a lot of users was Home Assistant, so we started working on a dedicated integration.

The idea is to make selected Polestar data available in Home Assistant, for example vehicle location, battery level, charging status, trip summaries, charging sessions and other vehicle-related data.

We would love to hear from people who use Home Assistant with their Polestar:

What data would you want to see as entities?

What automations would you build with it?

Would location, battery level, charging status, charging history or trip data be most useful?

What would make the integration actually useful for you?

The Home Assistant integration is part of our subscription, but for beta users and people who help us with feedback, we always try to make testing free. Feedback is extremely valuable for us, so if you want to try it and something does not work, feel free to reach out to me directly.

You can find it by searching for “Aximote Home Assistant” on GitHub or “Aximote” in the app stores.

Thanks a lot!

Feedback on our new Polestar in-car app

Hey everyone,

I built Aximote with two friends over the last year, and we just released a new version of our in-car app for Polestar.

The main idea is to make the data your car already has more useful while driving. You can now configure your own live dashboard with KPIs like acceleration, recuperation, energy usage, G-force, lateral movement, pitch, roll and more.

The in-car app also shows your trips, charging sessions and dashboard stats directly in the car, not only on the phone.

We are building this very feedback-driven and would love to hear what Polestar drivers think. What KPIs would you actually use while driving? What is missing? What should we improve?

You can find it by searching for “Aximote” in the Google Play Store / App Store.

Thanks a lot!
