Honey Baked Goods

In search of some classic baked good recipes that utilize raw honey or even a simple syrup made from honey and water.

I have three kinds of honey right now and I think they’d be awesome in a sweet treat, but I’ve never baked with honey so I don’t have any good go-to recipes to play around with.

I have a sunflower honey, florida orange blossom honey, and a meadowfoam honey. Photos attached.

Cookies, muffins, cupcakes, or icing is what I initially had in mind. Something simple but would let the flavor notes shine through a little. But open to any recipe!

No dietary restrictions.

Looking for a book that feels similar to The Invite movie

If you haven’t seen the movie, here’s an oversimplified take: tense and awkward but funny and real. A couple that has a lot of pent up anger and resentment but it all comes out in one night when they meet their neighbors. Is the marriage over?

How to spend a short amount of time at the park?

My friend and I are driving to SLC in September and are making a little roadtrip out of it.

We don’t have enough time to be spending an entire day at our stops (and if we do, I can google day trip ideas. Plenty of articles), so I’m very interested in things to do with 1-2 MAYBE 3 hours in the area. Labor day weekend too.

Cross posting but looking at advice for Yellowstone and Jackson Hole.

Smaller Community Events?

I do photography as a hobby, but occasionally I will shoot for an event or friend grad photos.

I recently took pictures for a local art festival and had a blast. It was nice to volunteer again, met cool people, got invited on stage and got to try my hand at concert photographer.

So all that is to say, I’m interested in finding more events where I can reach out and take free photos and meet more people. Bonus points if it’s related to other interests. Disc golf tournaments, art festivals, skate comps, etc.

I’ve been searching but any event specific ideas are welcome!!

The reason I’m leaning towards smaller events: larger or more organized ones likely have a photographer and I am not trying to step on toes

Awesome show, flashing light warning

I saw the first show of the Dope Lemon / Shakey Graves tour and it was awesome!

Did want to note for anyone going that the light show portion of Dope Lemon’s set was VERY flashy. The most I’ve seen from a show of this genre. For the people that are sensitive to that kinda thing, just be aware.

Anyway, would totally recommend!

Having fun with grading

Whenever I take photos of “normal” things, I like to really mess with the grading to completely transform the scene.

I think it’s cool to get completely different vibes from the same event.

Which is your favorite?

What questions do I ask for a wedding behind the scenes video?

I am a bridesmaid in a wedding this weekend and I just found out that my duty is the behind the scenes videographer with a little camcorder.

I want to make it family video style and less montage-y. To do so, I’m looking for prompts. Those that seek out both silly and genuine answers. Initial ideas below.

  1. Who will cry first? It’s an obvious answer so I plan to edit quick cuts of everyone saying the groom.
  2. Any advice for the newlyweds?
  3. Your favorite story with the couple?

What is the “Peosta IA” font?

We only have one sweatshirt left from my papa and I want to make more to surprise my family. I’ve had mixed success with font finder sites.

Is “Big T” in the same font as the rest (obviously in outline form) or is it different?
