I am stuck at 600 ELO from last 2 months, any apps / books recco for learning?

Hit 600 about 2 months ago and havent moved a single point since. Losing as much as im winning. Its getting to me.

What ive been doing daily:

1/ 1-2 chess.com matches

2/ 10 mins of puzzles

3/ 20min on Airlearn

I think im bad at middlegame. I open fine, can spot basic forks and pins, but the moment were 12-15 moves in i lose the thread and start guessing. What im not willing to do: memorize 20 move opening lines. I just dont have it in me at this level.

Open to advice. Help a brother out.

Why do anime dubs sound like actual performances but so many netflix live-action dubs sound like someone reading lines off a pdf 😭. Feels like nobody is talking to each other. just isolated recordings stitched together. Is this a netflix problem or dubbing studios just being rushed?

i’m so done manually filling the same info 50 times. name, email, resume upload, “manually enter experience anyway”. repeat x 100. I have been using simplify but it keeps glitching on some workday flows + random fields don’t populate. at this point i don’t even care about “perfect autofill”, just something that:

1/ works across workday / greenhouse / lever

2/ doesn’t break mid-application

3/ saves some time

Soo… help.

Asking because every other week someone in my feed posts "I migrated from Clerk to Better Auth and saved $X/month" and gets thousands of likes. Then I open the GitHub and it's a side project with 200 users and a happy path login.o

I'm trying to make a decision for our B2B SaaS (~80k MAU, growing). We're on Auth0, getting hit on the renewal, looking at options. Open source seems compelling on paper but I have questions nobody on Twitter wants to answer:

- Who owns the Postgres? Who's on call when it goes down at 2am?

- What's the bot detection / credential stuffing story without a security team?

- What happens when the maintainer steps away or pivots? (Lucia v3 → v4 was rough enough that I'm asking)

- "Self-hosted" usually means "I pay AWS instead of Clerk" plus engineer hours.

Has anyone actually penciled it out and still come out ahead at >50k MAU?

For context, I'm not anti-OSS. We use Postgres, we self-host plenty. Auth feels different because the failure modes are existential, revenue, compliance, breach riskm and the support surface area is large.

Genuinely trying to decide. What's the honest experience?

been seeing sync.so pop up a lot lately for ai lip sync / dubbing. looks kinda crazy in demos but idk how real it is in actual use. thinking of trying it for some short videos.

would love to hear from someone who’s actually used it.

I saw this on Tetr instagram on current geopolitical tensions, and found this. A massive share of global oil passes through the Strait of Hormuz. If that gets disrupted even slightly, it hits fuel, transport, food, everything. Feels like the whole system is way more fragile than we think.
