Just finished a rewatch and noticed that Kendall was pressing on Roman's wound/stitches when he didn't want to go into the board meeting in the finale

Like WTF man? I thought he was giving him a hug when I saw it before (yes I wasn't sober).

I also noticed Greg's betrayal of Shiv in America Decides and he's walking on the outside of the glass panels. That shrug in the first one then gigantic smile in the second was perfect.

You call this an invasion. We call it triage. Two universes collide, one survives. We already made the hard choice.

Finally finished Backrooms

It's incredibly good and creepy enough that I stopped it a ton of times. Horror movies don't usually scare me, but this one did somehow. Both of the leads deserve a heap of praise.

A Peter Thiel-Backed Tribunal Is Putting Journalists on Trial. I’m Its First Target

Imagine a world where Michael Sackler, of the Purdue Pharma fortune, objects to a piece calling him out for his "Ethical Investing" of the Oxycontin Profits (HE WAS A MINOR), and he called upon Peter Thiel, noted thief of young blood and Hobbit, who with his crony D’Souza has created a site that uses AI to judge adjudicate a journalistic piece as true or not. It features a rogue's gallery of jurors including Grok, ChatGPT, and Claude. TL;DR it was yoinked before the judging but I highly recommend to read this piece.

Shoes

This is something I've noticed lately and I'd like advice

Why do shoes not last as long now? I'm a Birkenstock fan and they'd last a good 36 months before, now I'm a year in and the outsole is worn out hard. I'm not into paying ~$120 for a pair of sandals that isn't going to last. Is this a capitalist enshitification?

McDonald's is not exorbitantly priced

I'm beyond tired of seeing posts about McDonald's being expensive. There is a beef shortage in the United States. There are less head of cattle now than in 1950, while the population of the country has more than doubled. McDonald's primarily serves beef products. Ground beef was in the 8 to 9 dollar range for ground round flat pack at Aldi last I went, so for me to make a quarter pound burger it would be $2.50 for beef alone. Minimum wage has increased greatly, pre-covid it was $8.56 (I'm in Florida), then it went to $11 in 2021 and has increased by $1 every year since and will be $15 this September.

The truth is $10 to $15 for a combo burger meal is reasonable. McDonald's is still slammed with customers every time I go by and people are still buying it's products. The company also went upmarket, which is a great strategy because they make more money per ticket and the lower-income customers cause the vast majority of problems. Complain about everything and try to get everything for free.

Java dev moving to C#

Hi, I've been a Java developer for something like 12 years now. I want to move over to C# for better job opportunities in my area. My senior project was ASP.NET, but this was back in the early 2010s. I'm looking at this https://roadmap.sh/aspnet-core roadmap and going through the microsoft tutorials, even though I had to install a VM copy of windows to get full Visual Studio. Any tips here?

EDIT: I'm downloading Rider now, which should be good because I main Intellij for Java and have for more than a decade.

Are mods worth it on PC?

I'm playing the Steam version on Linux via Proton. Are the mods worth it? I'm slightly annoyed by the game, but I've beaten P5 once and P5R (PS4 version) once. I haven't checked but I recall the music could be changed in the pause menu instead of being tied to costumes and it's really annoying me. Are the quality of life improvements worth it? Do the mods work well on Linux?
