Here we are !

On 11 September 2026, I posted the very first publication of my new project combining 3D printing and painting.

This project is nothing more and nothing less than a long-held dream – decades, in fact, given that I’m such an old-school vintage type – to create my own gaming table dedicated to medieval and alternate-history skirmish games (Mordheim and Trench Crusade).

A few print plates full of STL files and dozens of hours of printing and painting later, I’m absolutely delighted to share photos of the first three sets of scenery I’ve printed and painted!

Instagram isn’t really suited to photos of scenery sets, which would be better off in large 16:9 formats! But you’ll have to make do!
If you want to see a large 2K version, I’ve posted one on my Facebook page (I told you I’m a bit of an old-timer!)

I hope I can keep this up, as the method I’ve used to paint the stones and wood is particularly tedious, time-consuming and dreary. Thankfully, the result is well worth the effort and makes you forget those hours of torment. 😅

General information:
3D-printed and hand-painted medieval building scenery, ideal for miniatures and skirmish games like Warhammer, Mordheim, Frostgrave, Trench Crusade, 1490 Doom or any role playing games like D&D...

Printed on a Bambulab P2S 3D printer using PLA Basic filament from the same brand, fitted with a 0.4 nozzle and a high-quality print profile of 0.12mm.
Files upscaled at 114% to fit the 32mm heroic scale.

STL files bought on https://www.my-dungeon.com

Consider following me on Instagram as it’s my main hobby and photo sharing social network .

The Guard Tower - The Grand Reveal !

I am really happy to share with you a great series of 16 photos showing the Guard Tower from every angle, zooms and in all its glory. I hope you’ll enjoy this new scenery as much as the previous one! Let me know in the comments!

But back to our stories: after printing and painting the superb bastion (see previous posts), with my motivation and hobby mojo at their peak, I printed two more sets of scenery and set about painting them.

It was perhaps a bit ambitious to try and paint all these large scenery pieces at once, as painting all those stones and wooden beams proved to be a real slog and extremely tedious.

BUT! After spending my weekends on it – as I was too tired from my working days to paint in the evenings during the week – I managed to finish painting them! Woot!
And once again, it was when I added the moss and worked on the weathering that everything really came to life. But my greatest satisfaction is that the watchtower and the bridges blend perfectly with the bastion, as if they’d been painted together.

And honestly, arranging them in different ways for the photo shoot – or just for the sheer joy of it – gives me such pleasure and pride that I forget all those long, truly gruelling hours.

I’ll be sharing another set of photos later on, featuring the bridges that link the scenes together. I hope you’ll enjoy them!

Two more scenes are already being printed. There’s plenty more to come on my feed!

Cheers!

A little sneak peek at what’s coming up!

Just like with the bastion, it’s the addition of foam and olive-green paint washes to the wood and stones that really brings these superb dioramas to life!
I’ve started painting the top floor of the guardhouse. After the back-breaking work on the stones, the woodwork isn’t any easier. Raaargl!!!
HUGE respect to everyone who’s ever painted a whole medieval table.
If you look at photos or YouTube videos and it all looks quick and easy, THEY’RE LYING TO YOU! It’s neither quick, nor easy, nor fun! Haha!

Cheers

The Bastion Tower - My first 3D Print Scenery fully painted

Hi ! I've just finished to paint this stunning bastion and I’m proud to share with you a bunch of photos of this beautiful piece of scenery !

I had a lot of fun painting it and am really happy with the result. I hope you like it as much as I do!
Please, tell me what you thing in the comments.

This bastion was printed on my brand news Bambulab P2S with a 0.4 nozzle at 0.12mm.
Note : I’ve upscaled the files at 114% to fit the 32mm minis. The quality is truely amazing as I can barely see any print line (See the last pictures showing the printed sceneny before painting).

The Bambulab P2S is an awesome FDM printer and I don’t regret my choice and purchase.
The Forgotten Towns files created by My Dungeon are a real banger ! I’m like a child when I look at their 3D render and want to print everything !

This brings to a close this first series of posts dedicated to the very first 3D-printed building of what I hope will be a stunning Mordheim / Trench Crusade table! I’ll try to keep up the pace for a while, painting what’s been printed whilst the next items are printing (which takes a loooooong time).

So get ready for a bit of a spam !
