[Disturbing trope] They’re fully conscious when their body’s being controlled…

  1. Headcrab Zombies (Half-Life franchise)
When a headcrab latches on a person’s head, it hijacks the host’s body while leaving it fully aware of the pain inflicted upon them but only able to beg for futile help.
  2. Nikki (Obsession)
After Bear, the film’s protagonist, makes a wish that his crush, Nikki, “loved him more than anyone in the world,” Nikki’s body is overtaken by a sadistic, “yandere-like” personality, >!where the real Nikki can only express her true thoughts and feelings when the second personality is unconscious.!<
  3. The Night Rose (Fortnite Chapter 6 Season 1)
On the surface, the Night Rose appears to be a run-of-the-mill villain of the season. However, a closer look at her in game cosmetic set and boss (along with her “voice lines” during said boss battle) reveals that she is actually a poor woman controlling by the Dark Presence, the overarching villain of the chapter. Luckily, the Night Rose is freed from her captor at the end of the season and has since become a “redeemed” character on the heros’ side, recently even receiving a “Rebloomed” reskin this season.
  4. >!Watchman of Doom!< (Skibidi Toilet)
    >!At the end of episode 77, Titan TV Man is captured by the Astro Toilets, a race of conquering alien cyborgs, and fitted with a machine that hijacks his core (primary energy source thing), turning him into a robotic slave that can only beg for the Union’s forgiveness as he massacres the Cameramen base.!<
  5. Infected Titan Speakerman (Skibidi Toilet)
From episode 32->!57!<, Titan Speakerman is infected with a parasitic Skibidi Toilet that makes him turn on his allies. When he is disinfected, he immediately goes on a toilet-killing rampage, implying that he “witnessed” or at least aware of the atrocities the toilets made him commit and is taking his revenge as a result.
  6. “Monkey needs a hug” plush (Black Mirror)
When a woman dies, her consciousness is uploaded into a monkey plush toy, forced to see her husband remarry and give her to his child but only able to communicate via two equally useless “speech options”
  7. >!Minos Prime!< (Ultrakill)
    >!After Gabriel slays the King of Lust and former Judge of Hell, King Minos’ willpower is strong enough to manifest himself into a “Prime Soul” (essentially a demigod ghost), where he was immediately trapped in a Flesh Prison, forced to watch the parasite-puppeteered corpse destroy the city he lovingly built.!<

All quiet on the Mambonian Front

July 2nd, XXXX

"We joined the war under the naive pursuit of glory in battle, only to return as nothing more than haunted husks of the people we once were. The streets once filled with the lively celebrations of the citizens who commended our noble sacrifice to the cause now fell silent when we returned hollow from the atrocities of the battlefield."

(Taken in a Gmod trench map yesterday after a hard fought battle against the chuds)

(Loved trope) Insignificant characters putting up a fight

Just as the title says, characters insignificant to the story or even complete no-names putting up a fight

Bonus points if they do actually put up a good fight instead of dying/getting defeated near instantly

  • Maiko Maeda (Cyberpunk 2077): "I also got a dollchip", she says before I blast her ass with Rebecca's shotgun
  • Rick the Door Technician (Star Wars Jedi: Survivor): No Rick, you're not that guy
  • FN-2199 (Star Wars: The Force Awakens): You however are that guy
  • D.D.O. Commander (Ninja Gaiden 4): This dude got his own boss theme and everything, he's the GOAT of this trope

Theory about the ff3 still-life.

So it’s been recently confirmed that Enso’s still-life design isn’t the one used in ff3, so this means that the fan-models/depictions are still the most “accurate” version(s) out there.
I took a look again at the most popular ff3 fan-model, and after the newfound knowledge of still-lives from the movie, this got me thinking.
Is the ff3 still-life a copy of someone being killed by an entity? Like a bacteria?
Think about it, it’s Pale and dark, similar to bodies seen dead in The Backrooms who are most likely killed by the bacteria, it’s arm is extended as if it’s arm was being ripped off, and half of it’s face is being ripped off, as if it copied someone’s face was being eaten or mauled.

Why would The Backrooms copy someone who’s seconds away from death? Idk.

Please feel free to make any arguments about this theory or add onto it ;)

And sorry if this theory may have been said before.

I had a dream that ep 80 was releasing/premiering today

It wasn’t a large part of my dream but from what I can remember, the thumbnail was like the poster in the first image with the background of the second so it was probably either set after 78 where hugo was fighting or the aftermath of the camera base’s destruction. Also the comments were saying stuff like “The return of old Skibidi Toilet” or “The king is back” and the channel was Boom as the Secret Agent with a stern look slightly facing the right with a green aura on the left background and a darkish-red or brown one on the right, implying that somehow Boom was able to regain his channel and churn out a new episode. Sadly I woke up almost immediately before the episode began so all I “saw” was just a black screen with some ruins ambience

Is the City of the Dead Sun based on this scene in Dante's Paradiso?

I was looking at a post on r/TopCharacterTropes and noticed how this image depicting Dante's Paradiso greatly resembles the City of the Dead Sun from Fraud. Is this intentional? And if it is, is it perhaps because Hell Itself is taking inspiration of the divine love and the souls of the faithful and twisting it to its perception of "love"?

[Cool trope] Legally distinct Stands (from Jojo's Bizarre adventure)

IBM (invisible black matter) Ajin

The IBM are created from the dead cells of Ajin (immortal humans) after regenerating. They usually take on humanoid forms, have largely unique abilities to themselves, and are invisible to non Ajin.

Persona from Persona

Persona are ghost like figures that manifest from the user's spirit. They usually represent a core trait of their user, are invisible to non persona users, and evolve as the games progress into more powerful and varied forms.
