Sir David has tragically passed away while pruning his hedges

Sir David Attenborough is deeply saddened by this immeasurable loss and has sincerely appreciated sir David Brands duty of care for his marvelous hedging skills

At his eulogy sir Attenborough said

**"I once engaged the services of the remarkable Sir Brand to prune my hedgerows. His requirements for the labor were delightfully primitive: a mere two shillings, and a prized, autographed copy of Life in the Freezer.**

Almost immediately, he went to work. With a swift, yet utterly mesmerizing diligence, he navigated the dense foliage. It was... a masterclass. For here, tucked away within the chaotic labyrinth of brambles and branches, a precious family of tits had established their nursery. With breathtaking precision, Sir Brand ensured their fragile sanctuary remained completely undisturbed. A truly marvelous display.

He will be... most sorely missed by the world."

Cyclops finally getting to unleash his potential

I love the X-Men films so dearly but I've always hated how they have always watered down his powers. The guy can destroy fucking mountains. I really hope we can see the level of destruction he's truly capable of in a rage and what truly gets him to unleash his full wrath.

Eggars working with indigenous people to create a folklore film

Now this is going to be extremely niche and possibly divisive but I feel like if anyone can give this the love and care it so deserves its Eggars

I'm Australian and I've been so so fascinated and endeared by the indigenous dreaming stories my whole life and I was blessed to live in an area that was steeped in traditional stories and has its own languages and folklore. That I would very much like to see Eggars work with first nations peoples to bring these stories to life with these local languages and histories

A story I've longed to see is the story of Minga Gulaga and her two sons Baranguba and Najanuga.

The story goes One day Gulaga and her two sons, Baranguba and Najanuga, were collecting food. When Baranguba asked if he could go fishing, Gulaga said, ‘No, you’re too young, you’re to stay next to me’.

As they walked along, Baranguba insisted that he go fishing. But Gulaga said, ‘No, no, you have to stay next to me, it’s not safe to go fishing by yourself’. But Baranguba snuck away. He made himself a canoe and he rowed out to sea, where a big wave came and washed him off the canoe ... He laid down in the water — and that’s where he still lives today.

When Najanuga, the younger son, saw this, he wanted to move away and set up his own camp. But Gulaga said, ‘No, you’re too young, you just sit here right next to me’.

So now she lies there, looking out at the sea at her older son, with her younger son right next to her, in arm’s reach.

I think it would make a good film and this would be true for alot of local cultures and traditional custodians.

So please share any local indigenous folklore stories that you think would make a good film :)

Willem dafriend is iconic✨

If your going to cast an actor you know will go all in and chew any scene he's in you cast Willem Dafoe.

Sam raime knew it

Lars van Trier knew it

But Robert eggars knows it best hands down. In fact I believe his best performances are his roles in the lighthouse and Nosferatu followed by Antichrist and then spiderman

A masterclass in authenticity

I recently read eggars interview with esquire and a few others.i can't remember the other ones.

But what I found interesting in my insomnia induced rabbit hole is the symbolism doesn't just pertain to the movie but it also leeches into the real world as any great filmmaker does.

The movie is leaning heavily into the religious lens in the interviews he mentioned that the movie delved into the historical and cultural influence that religion had in the dark ages and placed a fair amount of importance in telling this story through the eyes of a deeply religious society and in staying authentic and true to his vision and his authenticity he decided to release the film on one of the wholiest holidays in the Christian calendar December 25th.

But don't @ me with the whole of December is prime time for blockbusters i understand that. Why else would he decide to compete against box office heavyweights like Avengers Doomsday, Dune Pt 3.

if not to further deliver on the authenticity of his work.

Absolute cinema

After watching the teaser I have some thoughts, especially around the werwulf itself.

it seems to me eggars is drawing on multiple folklore for his lycanthrope mainly west Germanic and Norse folklore which is obviously in his wheelhouse. But it would make sense considering the setting of the movie is set in 13th Century England. A pact made with the devil the wearing of the wolf skin, however I believe that is how the curse is simply attached to ATJ and we will get a modern werewolf design. Based on the teaser I believe it will take the form of a howlingesque wolf based on the teaser and shape of the wolf skin they placed on the child in the teaser.

Clearly 100/10 I'm so excited for this. As a fan of lycanthropes and eggars I can't wait to have the Bejeebus scared out of me
