B9 Audi A4 MMI - “Car Settings Unavailable” - All other MMI functions work fine
Hi all,
I have a 2016 Audi A4 B9 with MMI Navigation Plus (MHS2) and I’m getting the “Car settings are unavailable” error. I cannot access any menus inside Car Settings — oil level check, service intervals, door status etc.
What works fine:
Bluetooth, Apple CarPlay, Navigation, Maps — everything on the infotainment side is fully functional.
What I’ve tried:
• Updated MMI firmware to MHS2\_EU\_AU\_K0137 (MU Software 0243)
• Factory reset the MMI
• Scanned with OBDeleven — only fault is B200500 in unit 5F. No faults in any other module including unit 17 and unit 19.
• Cleared the fault — comes back
Background:
Car battery went completely flat during a 3 month vacation a while back and needed a jump start. Not sure if this is related.
Questions:
1. Could this be a 5F coding issue — possibly corrupted after the battery drain or factory reset?
2. Is there a known fix or re-coding procedure for this on the B9 platform?
3. Anyone had this resolved without replacing the MMI unit?
