I’ve just gotten to season 6, and I absolutely love the show!

I’ve seen what I think is an interesting change in the show. In the first 5 seasons (up until the firm falls apart and people leave in droves), it seemed to me like the firm itself was almost a main character in the show. Jessica, Harvey, Lewis, Donna, etc., are all main characters…but it almost felt to me like they were planets, and they all revolved around the “sun” of the business.

It seemed like a lot of stuff - Hardman’s return, the coverup around Mike, etc., all related to how the firm as a whole was affected. It seemed like major decisions centered around what was best for the firm, not necessarily the individual.

Now…once they had the mass exodus and it was down to Jessica, Louis, Harry, Rachel and Donna as the mains…the show seemed to start being more about Harvey. Yes, the firm and the other characters are important…but I’m seeing a lot of focus on Harvey and story around him and Mike.

Am I crazy, or has anyone else noticed this? And does it change towards the end of S6 or in later seasons?

I read a book a while back, and I want to read it again…if I can find it. A friend suggested it **might** be *Zero World* but neither of us are totally sure.

I only remember 4 things about it:

\* his contracts were managed by a very “in the shadows” organization or person.
\* every time he was sent out for a job, they’d wipe his memory. I think he knew this happened and it was one of those “I don’t like it, but I can live with it” things.

Morning, brothers and sisters!

I recently retired and am considering how I spend my time…what should I be doing instead of doomscrolling? Pre-retirement, my goal was to volunteer more. Now, I’m rethinking that…but I don’t know when enough is enough.

For context, I’m volunteering in our church in 4 different ways. 2 are weekly, one is monthly, one is quarterly. And that doesn’t count as hoc stuff I’d do.

But I always feel like I have to do more, give more of my time and treasure, etc. I lean toward this just being self-imposed guilt, but also wonder if God is calling me to deeper waters. Important to note: yes, I have a therapist and yes we talk about this.

TL;DR: just retired, already volunteer, feel somewhat guilty I don’t do more…what do?

In S2 we find out that the pivotal memo from Costal Motors >!had been faked and planted by Daniel Hardman!< I’m confused (or maybe I missed something) about how it passed muster.

I get that >!Donna’s “Received” stamp was used. But IIRC the memo was also signed and initialed by Donna…how did they get her signature?!<

Donna >!found the memo, so she would have instantly recognized if it was faked. So if it wasn’t faked, how did Hardman get it signed?!<

I’ve been using rattle cans of Vallejo gloss and matte clear coat on my kits. I don’t like the matte finish - it’s still got a satin-finish look to it.

I could go with another brand of rattle cans like Tamiya or Mr Color - but those get expensive quickly. I do all my painting with a brush, and I want to learn how to use an airbrush - I just haven’t done so far.

So…any recommendations on clear finishes I can brush on? I want acrylic rather than lacquer because the smell of lacquer makes me nauseous.

I don’t know if this is a weird electrical thing, or if it’s a problem with me. There are times when I turn the car on, and the wipers activate. They do one sweep, and then stop.

I occasionally use the remote start, and it seems to happen more often when I do that. The car also has a keyless start, so it’s not like I’m jostling something while turning a key. I don’t think this is a case of me inadvertently hitting the wipers stick…but hey, anything is possible

I’ll probably take it in for service soon…I just wanted to get a sense of whether others have this problem as well.

This is my first time watching the show, and I love it so far. I’m on S4E1. It seems like, at this point, the Shelbys are >! a legitimate “empire” of businesses and out of things like illegal betting?!< So far it seems like the answer is yes but I wasn’t sure.

Bonus question if someone doesn’t mind giving me a mini spoiler…>! are they fully legitimate, do they still engage in any ad hoc criminal activity (like the odd murder here and there, extortion, etc..!<

I've found a few cheap solutions that are alternatives to more expensive, model-specific tools or materials. I'm wondering if any of you have tips to share? My favorite cheap hacks:

• I use isopropyl alcohol instead of Tamiya thinner when using Tamiya acrylic paints.
• Foam cosmetic wedges can make a great sanding sponge. Glue on some sandpaper, and voila!
• Q-tips are good for smoothing out putty at a joint, as an applicator for PVA glue, etc.

I'd love to hear what others do!

I’m reading a novel right now, and a military ship is firing at a target 200 miles away. The shells travel at 8,200 feet per second. If I did my math right, I believe it should take a hair over two minutes for the shells to hit the target.

Here’s my calculation…if I messed up a step it would be helpful to what what it was.

Distance to target: 200 miles x 5280 ft/mi =1,650,000 1,056,000 feet
Time to target in seconds: 1.65M ft 1.056M ft / 8200 ft/sec = 201 128 seconds
Time to target in minutes: 201 128 seconds / 60 sec/minute = 3.35 2.14 minutes, or 3:21 2:08.4

I’m kinda dyscalculic…so if I’m right about this, I’ll feel really smart. 😝

ETA: I remathed my math, I think it’s right now.

ETA: to make the calculations easier I’m assuming a) the speed of the shells is constant over their entire flight to target, and b) the shot is made along a straight horizontal line, not an arc. I know those assumptions aren’t correct for a real world calculation, but doing it correctly is way too hard of a problem for me to calculate.
