Changing from Olanzapine to lose the weight gained

I've been on Olanzapine, and can't afford to stay on the Wegovy to keep the weight off that I gained. Did anyone have success switching to another AP and losing the Olanzapine weight without going on a GLP1? Its a shame becuase I like Olanzapine for its work on my anxiety and sleep, but I frankly don't want to live overweight so must switch. Aripiprazole gave me akathisia. I live in the UK so Lybalvi isn't available. Metformin 500mg isn't touching my appetite. Thanks in advance for your experience!

Needing to stay on semaglutide for as long as I’m on Olanzapine

I lost the 40lbs I gained on Olanzapine thanks to Wegovy. I went off Wegovy bc I couldn’t afford it monthly, and now I’ve started to gain the weight back. I like olanzapine bc I sleep great and it manages my anxiety which allows me to work. Have tried 500mg Metformin and that is not eliminating the olanzapine appetite. Am I going to have to find a way to afford wegovy long term to keep the obesity at bay? I got akathisia when I tried the weight neutral Abilify.

Recovery from codependency on ex

I was largely financially reliant on my ex narcissistic spouse. He prioritized his career and did not champion mine and I stayed home raising our daughters for too many years before heading back to work. As a result my work life is on the floor and it will take years if ever to reach the earning that I achieved pre children. Is there anything you do to heal from the profound codependency from the relationship? Thanks in advance. I still miss him because I feel so hopeless on my own, in spite of the emotional abuse

Has anyone had a severe psychotic episode following leaving the narcissist?

I was diagnosed with schizoaffective disorder after a severe psychotic break after leaving narcissistic abuse which lasted 17 years. My therapist has suggested that my diagnosis could be overturned. Thanks in advance

Sedating antipsychotics that don’t cause weight gain?

I’ve been on Olanzapine for a year and it led to me gaining 40lbs; I lost this thanks to Wegovy but I can’t afford to keep the Wegovy up as it’s too expensive. Does anyone have experience of a sedating antipsychotic that does not cause weight gain? I got akathisia when I tired aripiprazole.

Medical marijuana: not advised for schizoaffective?

I am sober from alcohol for four years but am wondering if medical marijuana use (I live in UK) is possible with schizoaffective or could trigger relapse of psychosis.

What kind of work do you do if you are able to work?

I’m considering retraining to teach but I’m worried about workload stress triggering another psychotic episode. I have schizoaffective and a stable 7.5mg Olanzapine but had to up the dose from 5mg to that dose to manage stress of working as special needs teaching assistant in a primary school. Pre-episode I worked as a book editor but I perceive that teaching is a higher stress job. However book publishing has shrunk as an industry so I can’t really reenter after a career break staying home to raise kids. Thanks in advance

Amends with my 15 and 12 year old daughters

Hello; I am four-plus years in recovery from binge drinking and I’m struggling with what to say to my daughters in amends to them. Most of my drinking occurred away from them on nights out with my ex partner while they were looked after by grandparents. They accept that I have to go to meetings regularly but my sponsor told me to keep the amends quite high level which I’m struggling to understand. I’m rereading Step 9 in the 12 and 12 and Big Book. In addition, in early sobriety I had an extensive psychotic episode due to undiagnosed schizoaffective disorder that led to me losing custody of my daughters to their dad for a year. This was traumatic but I am unsure whether this belongs in the amends. I am now stable and back to coparenting 50-50 with their dad (we are divorcing) thank God. Thanks in advance.

Do you feel you need to ‘mask’ in any way at work or do you just find that meds are enough to maintain normalcy at work?

Thanks in advance. I’m finding it stressful the social aspect of being in a steady workplace.

I’m struggling to make sense of why I had to suffer so long and lose my kids for a year of their lives due to the illness. However I’m stable bc of the talented professionals who administer my care and medications. Just wondering what your journeys have led you to think about something greater out there

Have upped my olanzapine from 5 to 7.5 but I fear this will not be enough to manage social stress of a busy workplace/workload. I will message my care coordinator to see about whether I should go to 10mg bc I can’t afford to be quitting my job
