How's the lineup looking?

I find I always a deck to have fun with and match the pace of most pods. Rarely do I dip into bracket 4. Nelly Borca is far and above my favorite commander.

First Experience Playing Darkwater

After watching and reading the plethora of negative reviews, I got my play group together to play the game.

It took five months to paint all of act 1 on my own. It was tough to keep motivated when I expected the game to be broken, bereft of any depth, and boring between player turns.

Finally, I got to play it and had one of the best times playing warhammer ever. Every turn was intense. Each player was engaged, telling each other how to make the "right" play. We hung on every single dice throw. Even though we each made some selfish plays either to retain our (discardable) equipment or go for the treasure, we still manage to scrape by each encounter.

Some rules were hard to understand but with some competence, we managed to get what the game was implying. We had the errata sheet next to us and were aware of the formerly "broken" encounters which we lucky enough not to get.

I understand the criticism but I wanted to make this post just to say that we found the game to be very fun. In a sea of rough playthroughs (that other people had), we had one that filled with so much intense joy, relief, and engagement.

Struggling with making this sword idea work

I am very satisfied with everything else about the model. Having looked at many other artists version of the sword, I wanted to try something different. I'd like to make the faces less of a sword-soul integration and more like half soul half real faces coming out of the sword.

Do you think I need to rework the metal of the sword into more flesh than metal? Or is there something similar you've seen that can be great reference material? Techniques you would suggest?
