Long story short: I am a incoming junior transfer, and i've just fully committed to going pre-med, what does that look like as a non-science major ?

I am starting with Bio 93 this summer, and last semester I took intro to bio at CC so I have a better understanding of the topics. I see that for the bio rounds, chem, etc. there was major restrictions. Am I at a total loss having to wait until the restrictions lift when signing up for any of these pre-med prereqs during the non-summer quarters? I have summer open so this next summer i'll be taking whatever I can that lines up with my necessary prereqs, but I will have to take a lot of the classes during normal quarter timing. Anyone have experience with this?

Does my "Case Manager" role at a detox house count as Clinical Experience? (Heavy triage/medical screening)

Hey everyone,

I've seen that the general consensus online is that "Case Manager" roles are pretty much strictly administrative or mostly are, and do not count as clinical experience for medical school applications. However, my role at a residential detox is highly hands-on and involves a lot of medical triage.
I’m planning to apply to medical school (with an interest in psychiatry) and wanted to get some outside perspectives on whether admissions committees would view this as clinical.

This is pretty much what I do

Direct Clinical & Triage Duties:
Medical Intakes & Screening: Conduct intakes on patients in acute withdrawal, administering and reviewing/keeping track of standardized clinical scales including COWS, PAWS, MAT, and BAM-R.
Vitals Review & Triage: I review patient vital signs taken by Behavioral Health Techs and use clinical judgment to determine if the patient is stable (the BHT's usually will identify it if it is an emergency right away, but I'm able to see their medical history, UA, and determine if it's concerning on a larger scale).

Pathology Monitoring: Many of our clients have concurrent severe illnesses (e.g., advanced cirrhosis, cancer). I conduct 1:1 sessions to screen for worsening symptoms and assess if they require specialist medical referrals.

Therapeutic Interventions: Run weekly group therapy sessions and conduct individual clinical screening sessions.

Acute Emergency Response: Perform regular client room checks and have had many experiences perforning emergency medical protocols for life-threatening crises like active seizures and overdoses.

Administrative/Case Management Duties:
Writing admit notes and collaborating on master treatment plans.
Scheduling patients for outside medical/doctor appointments.

I guess my question is: Would this count as clinical experience, specifically when it comes to medical school... I have over 4000 hours of experience with this, and so it will obviously be very valuable if so. I am just trying to figure this out,

Thank you for the feedback in advance!

I've played on and off for the past 15 years or so, and I'm trying to level up my game.

Recently a friend of mine invited a group of us to play weekly at our local table tennis association. While I was there I realized how crazy it is. It's like marty supreme. There's people in there that are insanely good, and it inspired me to want to be better. Where do I start to excel ? I'll be going there weekly.

I recently started playing chess around 6 months ago, and I love playing, but struggle... looking for advice.

I started playing 6 months ago, and I became obsessed. I was playing games 10-15 times a day. I would run up my score to like 300, and then crash it. Would do this multiple times. At the beginning from when I practically didn't remember how to play at all since being a kid, up until I learned again I felt like I was learning a lot. Since then I feel like i've plateaud. What are some strategies for actually getting better? I have a 425 score now playing 10 min games on the chess app.

How long does it take for karma to be reflected on your account ?

So, let's say I comment and get an upvote... how long does it take before that becomes karma? Also, how long until I can just see the notification that someone responded to me? Is it in real time, or delayed?
