Energy vs Power
I'm learning ninjutsu rn. There's something that ninjas historically did called the kuji kiri, and I've been studying it recently, a bunch of hand signals used as a meditation, called the nine cuts. The first one is energy, and the second one is power.
I would never have thought there's a difference between energy and power, but after thinking a bit, it makes a lot of sense. Power comes from behind and the past, from muscles alone, pushing you forward. Energy is more directional; you can swing a hard punch (or any technique) with good technique and less muscle.
Thoughts? Does anyone have some thoughts on this that they can share from another martial art?
