Puppy is obsessed with zippers—recommended enrichment?

Hello! I have a new rescue puppy (4 months old, 16 pounds, mixed breed, probably going to be around 40 pounds, we’ll know more when her embark results come back) that I have had for about a month. Honestly, she’s been incredibly good—hasn’t been too nippy, redirects easily when she does, sleeps through most of the night, took to her crate well, etc.

However! She is obsessed with zippers. All she wants is to nibble on them and unzip things. And it’s clearly something she is finding stimulating in a way that other toys and chews and even me letting her go ham in the ugly part of the garden are just not cutting it. She also had a toy basket that she was systematically stripping the pieces off of one by one but we had to stop that because I did not want it in her stomach. Does anyone know of any enrichment I can provide her that lets her fulfill whatever this is?

2nd Embark test sent in!

First Embark Kit took so long to get here that the second one I ordered for my 8 year old dog got here around the same time lol. This is Honey (51 pounds) and I’ve had her for 5 years and she’s also a rescue from the Utah Humane Society. She loathes water, love cuddling (if she could live in my skin she would), loves fetch but doesn’t care for tug games, -1000 herding instincts, and is incredibly chill and honestly incredibly passive to the point our 20+ year old cat bullied her when I first brought her home. She’s very sweet and will occasionally lose her bones and melt into anyone petting her, especially if they massage her ears. She also has complete control over her big satellite ears. Most people I’ve talked to guess some kind of German shepherd and that’s just what I defaulted to. I finally ordered a kit for her because I felt bad just ordering one for my new puppy and not her. All I know of her backstory is she was found wandering the streets of Utah county starving and pregnant.

Embark test is away in the mail!

Meet Winnie! She’s 15 1/2 weeks old and 16 pounds (I posted her on other threads but apparently my scale was busted and had her 2 pounds heavier than the vet did). I know it’s cliche to say I think she’s a retriever mix but her toes are real webbed and water doesn’t really seem to bother her. But other than that I have no clue. I feel like APBT/staffy is likely given she was a rescue but I also think her head is a little narrow for that. My dad is convinced there’s Rottweiler based on the brown on the backs of her legs. But I also feel like she’s too light at her age for any of those dogs. From scrolling this thread I know you can combine so many different dogs together to get a dog that looks like this and I’m soooooo impatient to learn what she is.

She likes digging and finding all sticks and she does like fetch but tug a war isn’t really her jam.

We would be further into our embark journey but FedEx delivered it to the wrong house lol.

FedEx lost my embark package so let’s all have some fun guessing while they sort that out

FedEx delivered my embark package to the wrong house, so while we’re waiting for them to sort that out, what guesses do we have for my 4 month old Winnie? My guess is some kind of lab-bully-German shepherd mix. But the brown markings on her butt and back of legs make me think rottie or Doberman l. I know it’s cliche to say a lab mix but her toes are real webbed lol. She’s around 18 pounds.

What do we think?

Meet Winnie! I just bought a DNA test to see what’s all in here. She’s 15 weeks old and around 18 pounds. I’m currently leaning towards a pittie mix (her fur just feels real lab-y to me and she has webbed toes and is pretty chill in the water) but the back of her legs and her butt is brown which makes me feel Rottweiler (you can see it on the last slide when she’s playing with my other dog). From scrolling DogDNA and seeing a bunch of dogs that looked just like her with wildly different backgrounds, I know dna is the only way to go, but I’m just curious what everyone else thinks.
