So last year I rented a car from AMG a car rental, was a really good deal i think 1000 AED for 6 nights and a compact SUV.

Everything was straightforward while picking up the rental from the airport, they charged me the 1000 AED + another charge of 2300 AED for refundable deposit.

Returned the car after 6 days, was told i have about 100 Aed in salik etc, paid those and was told that the deposit will be refunded in max 30 days.

30 days passed they kept delaying then 60 days passed. I filed a complaint with Dubai consumer affairs and did a chargeback on my credit card.

Fun story starts here

Once I did CB, they had to provide proof to my bank that the 2300 AED they're holding is legit. So they provided some speeding fines from Dubai police. I was suspicious, so I checked on dubai police website and found the fines to be fake and forged( they copied someone else number plate and photo shopped the rental car plate).

Reported them to dubai police and after 1 year they got caught and 173 page report was filled against them and they got a travel ban.

Makes you wanna appreciate the law and process.

P.s. Dubai Consumer Rights is the place to go to catch these scammers and make them pay. They gave my deposit back :)

Hello guys

Recently bought the slim 3x ideapad but having a hard time getting the thunderbolt 3 lenovo docking station to connect to it. The charging works fine, but the USB C port doesn't recognize the displays/ethernet/usbs connected to the docking station.

I tried updating all the drivers through Lenovo, downloaded thunderbolt 3 driver management ( but it doesn't detect the docking station). Wondering where I'm going wrong.

I even tried to attach a USB C to USB B adapter from my docking station and plugged in through the USB port, but that didn't work either ( didn't expect it to anyways).

Any ideas?

Story time:

Moved from US to Karachi after 14 years (with wife and kids) due to parents old age. My own decision to be close to them and do khidmah. Obviously it comes with some cons since karachi is a dirty? Worst? Cannot think of a word city.

Anyways, I was somewhat religious in the US (going to masjid 5 times a day), volunteering etc. Although alhamdulliah i still pray 5 times, going to masjid is non-existent.

I think its because of couple of things:

1. Heat and conditions of the masjid

2. No friends at the masjid ( this might be a low level thinking on my end , and I despise myself , likin I cannot find anyone in my masjid that matches my thinking. IK going to masjid should be for Allah and for myself but idk y this just stops me. Ik I'm in the wrong 100%, but in the US i used to go, chat with couple of guys and then come home. Cannot do that here for some reason.

3. In the US being muslims we were representatives of our religion, so had to be on my best behavior. Here? Religious people don't care about ethics. Driving wrong side, cursing, being inconsiderate while parking, looking you wrong if you wear a 3 quarter shorts or thobe to masjid etc.

Not sure what you'll all have to say about this, I'm never a prideful person. But these thoughts and these reasonings lead me to think I am. And Idk how to rid of it. Would appreciate any advice and guidance.

Anyone know if I book 2 seperate itineraries on qatar airways.

1st fro. Khi-Doh, then doh-iah. Can I check in from the trasit area without going outside?

There's doh - iah saver business availability, but not from kgi-doh. Was thinking to book both flights seperate and sort out visa. But apparently visa for Pakistani citizen are closed.

Will i be able to stay at the airport for 3 4 hours? What about my bag?

Got 4 business class seats from IAH - DOH with points on saver fare (70k +~$297 taxes).

Only sad part is it's a 2-2-2 config and non q-suites. Surprisingly its a boeing 777-200 and doesn't have qsuites for a long haul (and they are running at capacity, so shouldn't have shortage of airplanes)

I hope i get reverse Qatar'd and get an equipment swap lol

They are running the 777 for May and then switch to A350 in June which has a qsuite.

Anyone experienced the 2-2-2 config on long haul?
