Mavericks NBA Draft Grade Discussion

After the second round is complete, this is a discussion for grades on the Mavericks overall draft class. I personally grade it a B-. I think we got better and liked the Morez Johnson pick. I think he will be a great addition to the roster. I like the potential of the other 3 picks. One or 2 might pan out to be solid contributors at some point in the future. I think our biggest miss was not trading up slightly higher for Cameron Carr or Philon. Although we drafted potential in Sergio I would have preferred us trading up hire to get either Carr/Philon. I would have liked the more sure thing considering I think our objective is to win a lot of games next year and Sergio is doubtful to be a meaningful contributor in the next couple years.

Texas Baseball Path to CWS Final

My hatred for OU runs deep but I think our path was made slightly easier after they beat Georgia yesterday!

If we can show up and defeat Georgia tonight I have a strong level of belief that we can beat OU 2 games to make the CWS final. One game at a time but what a performance yesterday and not much pitching used in first two games. Let me know y’all’s thoughts! Hook ‘em!

BREAKING: Texas Tech Refuses to back down after Colorado AG Threatens Full Power of Air Force Academy

LUBBOCK — Tensions continued to escalate today after the Colorado Attorney General reportedly threatened to unleash the full power of the Air Force Academy in response to Texas Tech’s handling of Sorsby and the gambling case.

Rather than retreat, Texas Tech officials doubled down and reportedly threatened legal action against the Air Force Academy itself.

“We respect the military,” a Texas Tech spokesperson said. “However, we believe several federal laws prohibit F-16s from enforcing NCAA eligibility rules.”

Sources say Air Force Academy officials were caught off guard by the lawsuit threat, noting that this was the first time they have been threatened with litigation for a threatened attack.

Negotiations reportedly broke down after Colorado officials demanded Texas Tech simply release gambling addict, Sorsby from the team. Instead of meeting this request to prevent airstrike Texas Tech countered by hiring three more attorneys and releasing a 47-page document explaining why everyone else was actually the problem.

Lubbock officials are pleading with the university to meet these demands. The Air Force Academy is giving Texas Tech officials 24 hours to meet their request. Will Sorsby be removed or will Lubbock be attacked? Stay tuned.

Fun Fact: Texas Tech had a 70 year outright conference title drought from 1955-2025

Texas Tech overall has a very embarrassing past in Football. Many more facts like this one. Including Mahones going 13-19 at Tech in 3 seasons. Finally won a big 12 championship this year. They are trying to make up for their failures of the past and willing to destroy their PR for a chance to win a second conference championship outright in a span of 72 years.

Why can’t Texas Tech AD, Cody Campbell, Joey McGuire just accept being the villain?

This entire situation with Sorsby has been detrimental to the sport and could be the beginning of the end to the sport as we know it. One thing that is despicable to me is the constant pandering by Texas Tech to act as this entire situation is admissible. Texas Tech AD writing a statement pleading that they are not involved in any way. Head Coach on video talking about how Sorsby is a good kid and how it isn’t like he is beating or killed someone. Cody Campbell claiming that they are being attacked because they are Tech not because of their harmful and unethical actions. If you are going to be a villain in college football own up to it. Just say college football is the Wild West currently and we are taking legal actions so we can win more games this seasons Stop acting like everyone is out to get you. You are doing everything in your power so that a player who bet over 90k worth and significant amounts on his own team can play football for your team. Stop whining, own your actions. Be the asshole organization in the sport but don’t cry for people to not attack you or pursue actions against you.

Slow Coach Hiring Process

For starters, I was not frustrated with Masai firing Kidd. I think we needed a fresh start as an organization and it was the right decision. I am kind of irritated that the Mavericks seemingly had no plan after they fired Kidd. I think having an established head coach whoever it is could be helpful in the draft process. If they don’t have a coach in this process I believe it could only hurt us not help us. We definitely need the insight and this can determine how successful we are in the future.
