I was just thinking about this and I wanted to make a post about it cause I haven't seen many people talk about it. Half life 2 (and the episodes) have amazing atmosphere and it still holds up today imho. Highway 17, sand traps, and all of episode 2 stand out the most to me. I love the constant fog that's laid over the shores of highway 17 and sandtraps and the heavy forests of episode 2 just feel so cool and add so much to the games. Anyway that's really all I had to say, just wanted to glaze some parts of the games.

I'm trying to use a strider's standing up animation but the animation loops after it finishes playing; how do I stop it from looping?

I haven't played Gmod in a few months but decided to reinstall it about a week ago cause I loved NPC fights. However, I've randomly been experiencing a problem where the game randomly will freeze and force me to close the game with task manager. Sometimes this caused by too many particle effects happening at one but other times I'll just equip a different weapon or clean up the world and the game will freeze. I only have ~450 addons and I'm running on the 64 branch. I don't know what's causing this cause I never had this issue before I took my break from the game a few months ago. Could any of you help me with this?

I'm collecting ego crates and with the walpurgisnacht coming up, I'm conflicted as to what to use them on. On one hand, KOD rodion is one of if not the best sinking ID in the game, which is the keyword I use most (even though my team is kinda a mix or mostly sinking keywords.) However, on the other hand, I could use the shards on riensang both because he's one of the best IDs in the game, gives some sinking still, and gives me the upper hand with the powercreep. I'm really conflicted cause I don't have enough boxes to get both and I'd either have to wait for season 9 to get riensang or the next walpurgis to get KOD rodion. Let me know what I should do. For the record, I have a maxed out ring rodion as my best ID for her but only a maxed out spicebush yi sang as my best ID for him (which I've seen get decimated by the powercreep)

Two months ago today, my mom got really sick and had a bad fall, the ambulance came and took her to a trauma unit to help treat her fall injuries and stabilize her plummeting blood pressure. Turns out the hospital fumbled her blood pressure stabilizing and her brain was left with low oxygen for enough time it apparently caused damage. My mom is the breadwinner of our house so both me and my dad are worried about the future of our household. We both remained hopeful but he's seemingly become less and less hopeful about her recovery, referring to her cognitively challenged state as "her new baseline" but I've been trying to hold onto hope, I'll go crazy otherwise. I'm just really worried she'll lose her job if it's untreatable. To give an idea of her cognitive state, her memories are intact but she's struggling to create rational connections between them, it's hard to describe. I've heard that it's recoverable in ~6 months from Google searches but you guys are more familiar with TBI than I am. Do you guys think it's recoverable or is my hope misplaced? I appreciate your input.
