Riding BTEpic next weekend and the forecast is looking a bit wet leading into the race. Currently in Ikons and I don’t want to be on them if it’s wet. I never ride in the wet as my home trails are essentially unridable when wet so I have little context for a “mud”tire.

For my reference if it’s a slog fest with deep mud I’m out at the first chance so I’m not looking for a true mud tire. But if it’s wet roots and rocks and everything more or less ridable I’m good to go. The Ikons grab nothing when wet. You could sneeze on them and make them slip. My go to would be the ForeKaster but I can’t get any here by when I leave. I can get the Contis though just don’t want waste my money if they aren’t any better than what I have. They look to be advertised for wet weather but just looking for a real world rec.

Does anybody make a battery storage for hot or extremely cold garages? My garage is detached and I don’t have a good place on the main level to store batteries. We have a small house and space is a premium. I do have a nice garage but it’s uninsulated, it can get upwards of 130 in there on a hot day and well below freezing in the winter. I’m basically thinking a smallish fridge but instead of keeping it around 40 it keeps it around 70. Anybody sell this or built something like this.

I had a Greenworks pressure washer that had the manifold crack last week so I’m on the market for a new one. Looking at the options at the local stores and they all essentially look the same with different plastics/branding on them. I’m not seeing much for replacement parts beyond wands and hoses.

With spending huge money (Kranzel) does any brand actual offer replacement parts such as a manifold or are they all basically just throwaways when something breaks. Are gas models better about longevity? I’d rather have electric but not against gas.

Noticed a whine develop in the last few weeks. I can only hear it when there something on either side of the Jeep like driving between buildings or a bridge or something and only hear it while coasting. Not beciase I think it goes away but just engine noise etc covering it up. I can put it in neutral and still hear it, which leads me to axles/transfer case/driveshaft but unsure where to go from there. What’s the diag procedure from here.

I think about suicide daily. On the drive to and from work I try to think of ways to do it. What always keeps from it is traumatizing other people that may find me and having had 2 of my best friends commit suicide when I was in college I get that the people around me will be hurt even though I also believe everyone is better off without me here.

I wish I could just disappear. I’ve already thought about as I get elderly and my friends and family die (I’m the youngest, no kids and no extended family that I’m close with) I can just quietly leave, drive to some place that people rarely go and just disappear with no one missing me.

I hate having these feelings. I want to enjoy life but just can’t seem to get over all the things life entails that drags you down. Every time things start to wain and I get less depressed and those thoughts start to subside I get slapped back to reality by some life event that I just don’t want to feel with.

I know I need to go to therapy. How do I start that? How do I find a person that will be and not just extract money from me. I’ve always been scared of therapy because I hate the thought of taking meds and someone judging me but I really want to get past this so I can try to enjoy life and not think of all the way of committing suicide for 40 minutes a day.

I have a Mohela loan that takes 169.88 on the 19th of the month and is supposed to be on that schedule until 2032. When it will be paid off. Today we got an email saying we have 0.00 due for May but the payment is still scheduled and it’s not supposed to be paid off until 7/32

I signed in and I have an alert than an overpayment is no longer auto allocated but that wouldn’t really apply to me since I’m not making an over payment and I only have the one loan anyway. I tried a web chat and calling but after being on hold for 2 hours I gave up. Any ideas why it would say that?

Historically we have had a Tuesday night group ride in my area but the last few years the people that organized and announced it either moved away or got busy with life ands it’s fallen to the wayside. I am wanting to start it back up this summer. It was sometimes a social ride, sometimes a shootout on an established route.

We currently have an MTB ride on Thursdays but it’s turned into chasing around e-bikes as the organizers almost all ride e-bikes. They aren’t rude about it or anything but their social ride is very different. The fastest riders can keep up in most situations but there’s some that have no chance and even for the ones that can it’s freaking hard, which sometimes is fun but not every time. And if the bikers decide to go hard, just forget about it.

I hate to exclude but I’m thinking about saying no e-bikes or e-bikes ride in the back, at least no leading the group.

Is that something that would be out of line? Or other solutions floating around out there? Has this been an annoyance in your community like and what if anything has been tried? Thanks!

Edit: Lots of good info and ideas. I honestly didn’t think about splitting the group ride into smaller groups. TBH I don’t anticipate a mass of riders or anything, maybe 15-20 on a really good night, but definitely see how splitting that down to 2/3 groups with a lead rider would be handy.
