Parts of northeast India such as manipur, Mizoram and parts of nagaland too share ethnic groups spread across the present day Indo-Myanmar border in the chin and sagiang states of Myanmar. Why weren't they included completely into Myanmar during independence of Myanmar from British India ?
When Rajputana kingdoms were given a choice to join either India or Pakistan during the partition, Northeast wasn't given a choice during Indo-Myanmar partition ?
M21 I'm a beginner solo traveller, been on 4/5 trips across India, each in North, East, northeast. For me it's always about the people and the experiences and stories in any trip. Though I've made some great memories with people in my previous trips out of luck.
I genuinely want to know from the pros how they actually voluntarily go and initiate conversations as a solo traveller ?
How is it interms of food, price and ambience ?
There are these huge stretches of red sand in southern tip of Tamilnadu close to the coast. what made this happen and is it like a desert with no vegetation ?

In a hypothetical situation, let's assume somehow India built a dam across the Indus in Ladakh. will that drastically affect/ collapse Pakistan's economy as Indus is the lifeline for the entire country of Pakistan just like Nile is for Egypt. And a major portion of pakistan's population and urban centers of karachi, hyderabad, islamabad, peshawar are located along the Indus river.
or will the other major tributaries of Indus- Jhelum, Sutluj, Ravi and Chenab be able to supply Indus with enough volume of water to keep the river alive ?
As we can see on the map, almost all major rivers flow east and drain into the bay of Bengal. The rivers Godavari, krishna and kaveri despite all originating very close to the arabian sea they flow east.
What causes this phenomenon? what's stopping rivers from flowing west ? Is it the elevation or any other geographical features that contribute to this ?
I got my first job and opened a salary account in ICICI Bank, they offered me a lifetime free card with no joining fee with a limit of 1.3 lakhs.
What to do with it, this is my first credit card
I went solo to tripura as a 21M, first time in northeast.
Landed in Agartala airport from Kolkata, spent a day in agartala visited ujjayanta palace, ate local dish, bangui and pork mosedang in a street stall. Spent some time with her on the first day. Roamed near her home market areas, mall, melas. Spent some time with her.
Next day, I took a local train to udaipur to visit chaubimura (pics are at the end of the carousel)
Stayed in udaipur and took a auto to amarpur (you can directly take to chaubimura as well). Better to take a bus to amarpur for cheaper travel (I was not aware of it). Then, chaubimura was literally empty on a holiday morning with barely 7 people. I was wondering why is this beautiful place so underrated.
I can't believe my own eyes when they took us on a boat to see the stone carvings in middle of the river and a cave, it felt so surreal I didn't even take much photos and just looking at it.
Met a solo traveller lady with whom spent the whole day trekking around and sharing stories and making memories we even returned back to agartala together in a local train.
Many should go to tripura, it has a lot of attractions and far less "tourists" unlike arunachal, sikkim, meghalaya.
Also, This was the time I took the first flight of my life with my first job's first month's salary.
Cost:
Flight Kolkata - Agartala (up and down) - 8000
Stay at agartala - 1000
Local attractions + food - 1000
Udaipur stay - 500
Auto to and from chaubimura - 800 (off season so couldnt get a shared taxi)
Chaubimura boat - 350/person (goes down if more ppl on boat)
Auto to airport from railway station - 300
Note: I am reposting this as my previous account and post got deleted

This region of Chhattisgarh has far less density of road and rail network compared to its neighboring states despite being not so hilly and not having difficult to navigate terrain. on the other hand, the neighboring states of Odisha and Maharashtra have dense road network.
what could be the reason for this ?
It's barely 25-30km from the southern tip of Tripura to bay of Bengal, how would it affect the growth, trade and development of North East if they had access to bay of Bengal ?
I need to buy helmet and accessories like skull cap. Where can I buy ?
I can see most of the times the sub is dead and inactive, with occasional post months apart. What are the things we can do to grow this sub. It'll be helpful to get info and updates around namakkal.
Mod help would be appreciated in this regard
There are regions within India that can function independently within a state itself without the intervention or permission from the state or central government. They are Autonomous Administrative regions.
In these regions the acts of Parliament do not apply automatically. Instead, they apply only if the State Governor or the President directs that they should, and they can be applied with specific modifications or exceptions tailored to the local tribal populations.
The Sixth Schedule of the constitution gives tribal communities considerable autonomy in the States in northeast bordering china and myanmar in Assam, Tripura, Meghalaya, and Mizoram.
These regions are tribal protected areas created to protect the indigenous communities.
Why no other state is given this provision despite having local indigenous communities for example Arunachal Pradesh, tribal regions of Odisha/Jharkhand or anywhere else ?
I (M21) have always felt insecure about my chest being pointy and slightly protruding out of Tshirt unlike other guys. I've noticed this especially since my puberty ages back then i was a bit obese, now I've attached the pics from different angles in the link and also the way it protrudes out when I wear tshirt.
We are experiencing a delay in south west monsoon this year due to this phenomenon known as ""El Nino"".
As the oceans are kilometers deep, Only the top layer gets warmer due to the sun and the bottom layers stay cool. Winds called as Trade winds that flow from east to west across the Pacific ocean push the warmer surface water in the sub tropical Pacific Ocean near the west coast of Latin america towards asia and Oceania in the west.
Now, when these warm waters are pushed towards the west something has to fill in the empty space created, that's when the nutrient rich cool water in the bottom layer comes up. This process is called upwelling. These nutrient rich waters attract more fish giving a major boost to the fishing industries.
Sometimes these trade winds weaken. So, warmer water doesn't get pushed away from the east pacific ultimately causing the oceans to stay warmer in turn attracting less fish and affecting the fishing industries significantly.
Usually, El Nino doesn't follow any regular pattern of occurrence but they occur anywhere between 2 to 7 years based on the past trends.
EFFECTS:
Global weather is linked, change in one place will have effect on the other. Especially in a ocean as vast as the Pacific, the change is felt drastically. The effect can be felt across South and southeast Asia, Oceania and parts of east africa.
It can cause drought and crop failure in some regions and heavy rainfall, flooding and infrastructure disruption in some regions.
What seems like a minor inconvenience can cause a major impact in people's lives. Thousands die due to drought and flooding. Many get displaced. Farming and food supplies get disrupted.
In India, it can result in less than usual rainfall during monsoons and heavy rainfall in winters in parts of south India.
P.S: this is based on my knowledge feel free to add in the points that I missed. Would be highly appreciated.
