Portraits for “The Book of Girls”
My daughter, age 9, has been into “Girls” since just before turning three. (At first we only gave her Our Generation girls.) Her interest has waxed and waned over the years, but this weekend she started taking their portraits for a book that will include their names and interests. (AG girls seem to keep a lot of their backstories, OG girls are blank slates.)

Help me make this cookie. It came to me in a dream.
I am trying to make a new type of cookie after the idea came to me in a dream. My idea is to have a lemon cookie dough base with blondie like texture, marbled or swirled with a cheesecake component. I want the final cookie to have an overall soft texture.
I can find lemon cookie recipes. I can find cheesecake recipes. But I am unsure how to combine them into a cohesive cookie as I suspect the more liquid cheesecake component would puddle as it bakes.
The additional trimmings like white chocolate chips or graham cracker crumb swirl can be added no problem, I'm sure.
I have searched online and it seems nobody has attempted this visionary concept, which perhaps suggests it is not possible. But I am determined to try.

Received verbal abuse, objects purposely broken because I don’t keep house, or appear to try to.
Chronic pain husband is stressed about upcoming surgery and medical leave from work. Reaction to me not having parenting handled well enough or “saying I need help” was to smash a bunch of shit. The thing about Corelle dishes is that they don’t break easily, but when they do, it’s into splinters.
This is something that’s happened several times in the past, but definitely the biggest mess he’s made so that he could say, “oh, it was too much for you to do dishes and de-clutter? Here! Clean THIS up!!”
This is only a house rant because I’m grabbing a broom and sweeping up before I go clean up what he threw onto the lawn.
Epilogue: Came home from work with packet about physiological symptoms and how they relate to psychiatric. Nobody’s excited to see each other but détente has been reached.
I have thrown away the Corelle dishes in the house because I can’t go through this again with glass slivers all over.

Who has an up-to-date, thorough baby registry?
It’s for science! JK-it’s for a college psych course.
I need to fill out a line item budget for a baby’s first year of life. I’m going to start internet shopping now, but if you’re registered online or have been a shower, I’d love to snoop and see what moms are requesting these days.
Or, if you currently have a baby/toddler, how many diapers are you using daily? (My kid’s nine, it’s been a while.)

I’ve got the Ick.
Saliva noises and lip smacking while eating, snorting and gulping while eating or drinking, loud belching, loud farting when rolling over asleep, loud hollering yawns, sudden groans (chronic pain), frustrated shouting about mundane daily annoyances, unrinsed cereal bowls, running the shower too long before getting in, plumber’s crack. Y’know. The Ick.
