Any recommendations for courses that help with the setting up of futures trading?

I am moving over from FX trading. I have done that for over 5 years and while I have developed an understanding of how to trade Futures I am stuck on the best platform/broker to consider - there are so many options.

I prefer to learn from people who are doing what I want to do so I am hoping someone could recommend experts in this area offering courses who could help me with?

Many thanks in advance.

Living in Tokyo but completely lost on how to structure N5 study

I live in Tokyo with my Japanese wife and family, but I speak very little Japanese. I work for myself on Eastern Time, so I actually have a lot of free time during the day to study.

I realize I'm extremely fortunate to actually live in Japan and have Japanese around me every day. That's partly why it's so frustrating. I feel as though I have every opportunity to make progress, yet no matter how much I try, I don't feel like I'm getting anywhere.

I spent a few months at a language school, but unfortunately it wasn’t very good and I left after the first semester along with most of the other students. I’m now studying on my own and hoping to take N5 next summer.

I’m working through Daichi and generally understand the grammar, but I’m struggling badly with vocabulary retention and kanji.

My biggest problem is that I keep switching methods. I’ll use Quizlet, then Anki, then Bunpro, then WaniKani, then read another Reddit recommendation and change again. I feel like I’m spreading myself so thin that I’m not really progressing with anything.

My wife helps where she can, but she has a busy job and family life and I don’t want to turn her into my Japanese teacher.

So I suppose my question is:

If you were starting more or less from scratch, had several hours available every weekday, lived in Japan, and wanted to pass N5 next summer, what would your daily/weekly study structure actually look like?

I’m not really looking for a huge list of apps and books. I think what I need is one simple blueprint I can commit to for the next 6–9 months.

I'd love a fairly simple blueprint: do this textbook, use this method for vocabulary, do this for kanji, spend this much time listening, practise this way, and stick with it.

I'd particularly love to hear from anyone who also went through a stage where they felt overwhelmed by all the different resources and eventually found a simple routine that worked.

At this point I think what I need more than anything is one structure that I can commit to for the next 6–9 months without constantly questioning whether I should be doing something else.

I've found this community incredibly helpful already, so I'd really appreciate any advice or experiences you can share.

Any advice from people who have felt similarly overwhelmed would be hugely appreciated.

Long haul on Emirates with a toddler - car seat and inflatables advice sought

We’re flying Japan → Dubai → Mauritius with our 4-year-old in December, so roughly 19 hours of travel altogether.

On long-haul flights we’ve always used the Flyaway inflatable bed and it’s been brilliant, but unfortunately Emirates doesn’t allow inflatable beds/seat extenders.

She’s quite small (around 14 kg) and the main issue is sleep. In a normal plane seat her head just ends up falling all over the place, so I’m trying to find something that gives her decent head/side support.

I’ve been looking at taking a car seat onboard, but I’m getting completely confused about which ones are actually approved for aircraft use and, specifically, which ones Emirates will accept.

For anyone who has done this:

  • What car seat did you use?
  • Was your child actually able to sleep comfortably in it?
  • How on earth did you carry it through the airport along with all the normal kids’ hand luggage?
  • Any lightweight/travel car seats you’d recommend?

I’m also very open to anything other than a car seat.

I’ve seen things like the Seat to Sleep inflatable travel nest, bigger inflatable pillows and various head-support cushions. Seat to Sleep in particular looks quite good, but I can’t work out whether Emirates would treat it as a normal pillow or as one of the inflatable sleep products they don’t allow.

Has anyone actually used one on Emirates?

Basically, I’m looking for any solution that lets a small 4-year-old sleep reasonably comfortably with her head supported on a very long Emirates journey.

Car seat, travel pillow, inflatable cushion, some genius product I haven’t discovered yet — I’m open to anything!

Would really appreciate hearing what actually worked for people rather than just what technically should be allowed. Thanks!

Crown Specialist - UK based but would consider overseas

Hello everyone,

I'm based in the UK and I'm looking for recommendations for a surgeon who specialises in crown hair transplants.

I initially considered Thailand, but I've struggled to find a clinic or surgeon with a particularly strong reputation for crown work, which I understand can be more challenging than the hairline.

I'd also consider having the procedure done in the UK, although the costs mean I'm more likely to travel abroad if there's a genuinely outstanding specialist.

If anyone has personal experience or can recommend a surgeon who excels at crown restorations (regardless of country), I'd really appreciate your suggestions.

Thanks in advance!

Official paper tickets

Call me old fashioned, but I miss the days of proper paper tickets.

I've got tickets for the Men's Final this year and was hoping to get them framed as a keepsake for my 80-year-old father-in-law. Unfortunately everything seems to be digital these days.

Does anyone know if Wimbledon still offers official paper tickets in any form, or perhaps a commemorative ticket after the event? Has anyone managed to get something suitable for framing?

Thanks in advance.

English-Speaking Hair Transplant or PRP Clinic in Tokyo?

Hi everyone,

I'm looking for recommendations for a reputable hair transplant clinic or PRP hair treatment clinic in Tokyo.

Ideally:

  • English-speaking doctor and staff
  • Good reputation and genuine patient results
  • Experience treating male pattern hair loss
  • Located anywhere in Tokyo is fine
  • Interested in both hair transplant surgery and PRP options

If you've had treatment yourself, I'd really appreciate hearing about your experience, including costs, results, and whether you would recommend the clinic.

Thanks in advance!

Men's Final Travel Advice Needed

I have tickets for the Men's Final and would appreciate some advice from people who have done Finals Day before.

I'll be travelling from Sussex with my 80-year-old father-in-law. The train journey seems fairly straightforward: train to Clapham Junction, then on to Wimbledon. The alternative would be driving and parking so that I can drive us home afterwards.

My main concern is the journey back. Assuming we stay for the whole day, I imagine we'll be leaving after 8pm. I don't mind a busy station, but I would prefer to avoid standing in huge queues for trains, especially with my father-in-law.

For those who have attended the Men's Final:

  • How bad are the queues at Wimbledon and Southfields after Centre Court finishes?
  • Is it generally well managed, or can you be waiting a very long time?
  • Would you recommend train, tube, taxi, or driving?
  • If travelling by train, is there a better route than going via Clapham Junction?

Any real-world experiences or recommendations would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks in advance.

Wimbledon Final Tickets - Transferring them within the agreed Ts&Cs

Hello all

I am lucky enough to have two tickets to the Men's Final. The plan is to attend with my father in law who is a life-long tennis fan. I had actually purchased them through the ballot intending to give them to my mother in law and father in law but understand that I must attend myself.

Has anyone been able to successfully transfer both tickets they purchased within the rules and legally? I do not want to do anything that would breach the terms agreed with Wimbledon. At the same time, given their age and this is a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity for them I was really hoping they could both attend.

Thank you for your assistance.

Regards
Alberto
