As a 10,000+hour Openfront player, you need to stop doing this (gone sexual)

Ok maybe not 10,000 hours but holy fuck this community scares me after playing so many games I am baffled by you guys.

First
Please, stop nuking cities on the frontline. It's almost never a better idea to nuke a frontline city.

Think about this now... I am fighting a guy and if I move forward say one inch on the map, I may capture his city. If you nuke this city, we both are now down a city, not terrible but if you nuke his further back city I have no chance of capping in the next 2 mins, you are helping your team immensely.

Second: I/you/we just got nuked: Don't panic. Yes 10's of thousands have horrifically perished instantly and our 3rd grade teacher was vaporized, we don't have time to worry about them though, they would want us to win the war.

Once we are nuked, I often see the panic of someone trying to regain lost irradiated land. This is worsened by experienced enemy players who will nuke you, watch you attempt to regain your irradiated land, and attack you as you pick through the corpse of your deceased as they laugh and take one of your cities. Getting nuked and not reacting is one of the telltale signs that I am playing against someone experienced... The nuke to me is now a "do you have sub 100 hours or not" bomb because once I see you don't know how to react, get ready because I am about to nuke your neighbor and see how he reacts to my warhead and you might both be deleted faster than you ever have before.

Follow these two rules and you will win more matches for team games, trust me.

12 years ago today, I signed up for reddit to discuss this mod I found called DayZ

I was 23, about to graduate college, and saw a video from TheDevilDogGamer on youtube of him exploring the Arma 2 mod named "DayZ" and I was hooked. Watched many of his videos, decided to build a computer, tuned in weekly to his Marine Corps. Monday gameplay and story vids.

Just got a message about how today is my 12 years on this website and I am still playing DayZ just not nearly as much. It has certainly impacted my life though as I am now a nurse and EVERY time I transfuse blood, I think back to the mod and blood bagging my friend after a gun fight behind the Balota airfield. The friends I have made from DayZ and our community that ran from about 2013-2017, Survival Operations, I still talk to 12 years on, crazy times.

I still follow the creator of DayZ, Dean "Rocket" Hall and have played every game he has made since DayZ including Stationeers, Icarus, Kitten Space Agency, and now his project named Gruntz. The survival genre he paved the way for has become one of my favorite corners in gaming and it all started because of DayZ. I HIGHLY recommend checking out RocketWerkz's other games(Dean Hall's company) but have mostly enjoyed Stationeers. Anyways, 12 years of DayZ, wouldnt change it for anything, I think this genre from DayZ to tarkov has made me better as a nurse as Arma, DayZ, Tarkov can all elicit adrenaline which has helped me perform during an emergency and I definitely think these games can help dull that spike, it has for me. Excited for the future of DayZ and soon Arma 4 and DayZ 2 👊

Even my reddit name is based off DayZ, I remember asking in the darkness "Bro are you friendly" and it started a friendship that has lasted going on over 12 years now.

Hello, I am a nurse and my patient loves Asmongold

Hello, figured I would give this a shot because my patient is a really cool young person who every day loves to watch Asmongold and his clips on youtube. My patient is a ventilator dependent person with severe cerebral palsy so they are extremely limited but can use the remote for the tv and day in and day out I recognized we watch this streamer and I just asked them if Asmongold was their favorite to watch and they said yes 100%.

I would really like to do something special for my patient if possible, I am not sure what. Even for Asmongold to recognize viewers with disabilities, who may be out there watching while on a ventilator or something I think would go a long way.

Any ideas though are welcome. Does this streamer sell merchandise that would be cool to get my patient? If so, any recommendations??

I don't know how this works but I asked google how to contact Asmongold and it said to post to this reddit so here I am, if this could make it's way to this streamer/his team I just want him to know there's a cool ass disabled 20 something year old patient out there who absolutely loves and is entertained by him almost every single day. I have become a fan myself just being in the room seeing what my patients watches so any idea I am all ears.

If you were my patient, what would you like for your nurse to do for you in this regard, if anything at all?

Thank you

Edit: Thank you all so much for upvoting this, I will show my patient tomorrow the clip, I am extremely grateful to everyone in here as well as this streamer, I am certain this willl make my patients day tomorrow if he hasn't already seen this live. THANK YOU GUYS

Day 5 of first ever sourdough starter, used sourpants San Francisco style sourdough

Photo 1 was prior to feeding, Pic 2 is right after.

I have been discarding half and feeding 50g flour and 50g water, I think it is going well, no rise yet but my understanding is that's normal for first week anyway, smell is what I'd expect too I guess

First run on SE2 classic survival, the feeling of accomplishment when I reached space reminded me of SE1 all those years ago.

Devs are whipping up something special. I have a lot of input but overall I am pleased the direction this is heading. I miss the ingot system though and still think it was a weird unintuitive change but maybe someone will just mod that or I will get used to it. I built a base in the desert and have now made it into space where I have completed a contract

u/FriendlyInChernarus — 3 months ago

My buddy told me to share my base here, he says it's painful for him to watch me play lol

I bought Factorio right before space age came out, beat it, bought space age, and this is really like my 3rd run. He's been telling me to tear my base down and make it more efficient now and used a main bus and more bots but at this point I just keep tweaking things and Nauvis mostly runs smoothly now without much intervention from me and can defend itself totally so I see no reason to. I have made it to Vulcanus and built a rocket and left as well as Fulgora. Next stop is gleba and beyond but every time my friend sees my base he is amazed I have made it this far without ripping it down lol. My thing was I kept being attacked really early so I jam packed everything to protect it better, now it's just a giant mess but I see no reason to spend more time rebuilding

edit: A lot of what guided how I played this was the unknown, which was awesome. I was afraid of launching to a planet and getting trapped, I did not know it was set up that you can get off planets starting from scratch so what I was doing was making a list of things I would need so when I touched down on my first planet, I already had the materials to launch off the planet. I landed basically with a list of shit: Reactor, fuel, all of the materials to build another rocket to launch and leave which is what I did with each planet so far

s21 to s26 ultra review, very positive experience so far, steam link, camera, battery

I have had this phone a few months now and absolutely love it. This reddit keeps popping up so I figured I'd toss my experience out there.

My s21 battery was no longer lasting a full day, the glue was fucked up so the entire back plate had fallen off, over all though it was a SOLID phone that got me from 2021 to 2026 which is why I decided to stay with Samsung and grabbed a 26 Ultra.

I just worked a 10 hour shift last night as a nurse where I was using my phone a good deal for my charting as well as use during downtime as my patient slept, I clocked out this morning and my battery was 68%, right now it's still 48% and got off my charger at 7PM last night, this is huge for me. My old s21 would've been dead half way through the shift, i was carrying a charger, worried I would forget my charger or lost it and etc.

The privacy display I've used a LOT already, something I thought very little of now I have permanently turned on for my notifications and now think this should be standard in every phone out there.

The camera is excellent, it was part of what sold me on a new phone, I was considering buying a stand alone camera for the last 2 years so instead just buying a nice new phone made more sense in the end and helped me pull the trigger. I often have 15+ deer wander by the yard so taking photos of them on the s21 versus the s26 is night and day, unsure what the camera spec differences are but it's been an obvious upgrade.

Steam Link: I was messing around and figured out i can use the steam link app to stream steam games right on my phone, something I think should be talked about more. If I wanted to, I think I could likely link a controller to this thing and stream Street Fighter 6 to my phone anywhere and have an overall good experience. Kind of negates buying these new hand helds imo. I haven't done the street fighter idea yet but I did play a bunch of S&box, factorio, and Rimworld which gave me a use for the stylus and worked well. I could totally see someone out there beating Space Age on their phone lol

The phone's size I was skeptical about but it is one thing I would consider tweaking, I would like to carry a phone with a bit larger screen for a week and see how that goes, this thing is big enough but I wonder if it could've been even bigger without causing me any issues with carrying it because I'd opt for that.

Overall very happy with this thing, hope it last as long or longer than my s21.

How bad of an idea is it to not have a screen protector btw? Never had one on the s21 and it was never an issue but am unsure if this is a stupid risk to keep taking...
